Connection between Cuddling, Breathwork & Meditation

I’ve always been a fan of cuddling, but just recently became aware of breathwork and meditation.

I’m so new to breathwork that I don’t know what I don’t know, and there’s probably a million variations, but what are your thoughts on the combination?

Im finding incredible benefits and connection to breathing deeper and being more focused on myself rather than everyone around me. More grounded, less anxious, more joy, better sleep.

  • I think it's a great combination. I'm hooked on it. Two of the cuddlers I am seeing incorporate this in and are trained in Reiki and all that stuff. It adds a really great dimension and added value.

  • Any videos by Thich Nhat Hanh. Mindful breathing, walking, eating etc. Daily activities can be transformed into spiritual practices. The easier the practice, the more effective. A little goes a long way.

Deep, cleansing breaths, a quieting of the mind, and a full acceptance of "this present moment" all happen whenever I'm cuddling! Never knew it had a name!

Do you find that you "expand" somehow, when you're breathing deeply in the embrace of another? Like where there were once two separate fields, suddenly those fields merge, leaving one much larger field? Can you achieve this effect alone?

I've heard of prana, but didn't dig into it. Is this like that? Breathing intentionally?

  • I start and end every session the same way: with a bit of breathwork in a seated embrace. Every single one. It makes all the difference.

  • @justjennn YES! I love it and do the same. I don’t do it every time, but when they seem open to it. I agree it makes a massive difference in the connection.

It’s too much for some and I get it, but for those looking for more heart connection, there’s nothing better. You could probably also do back to back.

It’s the last page of the main section in the book cuddle sutra.

  • @sofaking2 oh I love that so much! I so need to get that for my own collection.

  • @justjennn its fantastic! When I had my first cuddle in London in Oct 2021 with @Healing_Cuddle, under my orig profile “SofaKing”, she was so incredible, highly trained, calmed my fears and concerns as a newbie and introduced me to the book Cuddle Sutra.

By showing me pictures and asking if I would be comfortable and interested trying a couple cuddle positions, it made my first cuddle that much more enjoyable. When I got home, I immediately purchased a copy on Amazon.

  • I had a cancer patient for a client a few days ago and he said he was looking for more ways to regularly de-stress, so I had us do a quick meditation to give him an idea on how to do it. I have a giant tapestry in my office of the silhouette of a person meditating with the chakras going down their center. I think it's the perfect element to add to cuddle sessions for those who are open to it and could really benefit from it.
