What is the ditziest thing you've done?

In hindsight, it is some sort of dumbass miracle I didn't get diagnosed with ADHD until last year.... I have so many stories and ditzy/clumsy moments it's a constant comedy stream 😅

    A few highlights:

    • had my hands full of laundry so kicked a door shut....into my own face. Broke the cartilage in the tip of my nose (it's still separated) and gave myself two black eyes.
    • regularly trip over my own feet or thin air, have a major fall every year.... I've studied dance since I was 3, taught ballet since I was 15, got my BA in Dance Education and am a licensed teacher. My dad bemoans paying for dance lessons and part of my college every time 😅
    • will regularly forget where I put my glasses even if I have a designated place to put them....and then I'll sit or step on them. My last pair I held together with a paperclip for over a year while I waited for my insurance benefit to reset 🤓
    • ADHD tax is a thing. No matter how many reminders I set on my phone, sticky notes I put on my mirror, or routines I try to practice I'll almost always forget to pay things on time, use things before they expire, send things in before deadlines resulting in fees, etc. I try to automate as much as possible, because I save all my executive functioning for work.
    • trying to open my car door with my house key, and vice versa
    • speaking of keys: locking myself out of the house, so I use my hidden spare....and then immediately locking my spare in as well.
    • that daily "why did I walk into this room?", "What was I just doing?", and "what was I saying?"

Side note: I keep reading this thread title as "What is the dirtiest thing you've done?" 😅🤭😳 Which may or may not also be considered ditzy....

  • @cuddlefaery - I wonder if that person who commented on this thread who was banned thought it said "dirtiest". He said something absolutely disgusting that I'm not going to repeat here.

  • @Carl2714 I agree with @achetocuddle, that’s a good one. My fav!

The one that came to my mind for me, we were at a park, having a play date. A friend’s child ran in front of a zip line with a child on it, coming right at friend’s child. I yelled out to him, but I yelled my cats name, not his name. Of course he didn’t listen, but thankfully the zip line missed him.

Oh, and once I worked at a restaurant with a buffet. I made a cheesecake in a pan. The manager wanted me to taste it. The cheesecake tasted good, but he then requested I taste the crust. I had used salt instead of sugar…yuck.

  • Ya'll assume I've peaked and had a ditziest. Yet.

Lost my car keys at a gas station the police station was across the street an office came to fill up and I had him searching all over with me for it. Then he said are you sure it's not in your shirt? I tapped my shirt and it was in My bra all along.
I totally forgot I put it there. Hotmoca was a Hotmess that day at least I'm a Hot one 🤣🤣.

  • Well here’s another microwave story …… but it wasn’t food !

I remember being on the phone with a very chatty friend one evening and she just kept talking a thousand words a second 😱 and I was getting so burned out listening to her bad about a bunch of nothing that I went to the kitchen to heat up a bowl of pasta 🍝 and realized 4 mins later that my pasta bowl was back in the fridge and my phone was turned into a smoking glitchy crustacean 🦞 that surprisingly didn’t explode 🤯 I placed it in the freezer for 1hr and then sat it in dry rice 🍚 for 3hrs …. Odd enough it still worked but there was a burn mark where the SIM card went in and the touch screen started turning grey in some spots during that weekend before I had to get a new one 😂

Either that or locking myself out of the car and everywhere else the keys on my keychain would be able to get me into before we had smart cars 🚙 the level of panic 🙀 that comes when you realize you’ve F’d up for the day never hits harder than locking yourself out of your car or house. So expensive and time consuming to get them back if you have to pay for a car service company/locksmith if you don’t have any spare(s) or loved ones with a key to use theirs.

  • Wait for the red light to turn green only to realize 10 minutes later it is a stop sign

  • @cuddles_ndream

I'm sure you will think this is strange:
    At crossroads, I often arrange
    To spend the whole night,
    'Cause if there's no light,
I wait for the stop sign to change.

  • @JoyfulHeart its happened to me more than once so I believe you lol

Slept with a night shirt on backwards

  • I’m so glad to see people of all ages doing these things that I’m doing a lot lately!
A new one for me is mistaking what I’m seeing as something else. What does this mean??
    I’ll type ‘4’ instead of ‘R’ or ‘E’ instead of ‘3’.
(I’ve never had any graphic confusion or dyslexia in past)
Whenever I walk past my car’s rear left taillight for a split second I see it as a small door. There have been a few other odd things I’m seeing and not recognizing immediately.
There’s a word for this, can’t think of it.
    recognition/confusion/perception?
I’m appealing to the higher knowledge here for help! I mentioned to my Dr and got a blank look. 🤦‍♀️
