    @KozyKim
    I’ve been blocked for merely clicking on a profile, or sending a benign message. I once was blocked after saying I was in a low mood. I was blocked once complimenting someone’s art, but unknowingly using an adjective they didn’t like.

    If I’m not doing anything out of the ordinary, then the blocking has everything to to do with the other person and not me. People can be odd and fickle, it is what it is.

  • I block for two main reasons. One is to keep my visitors list current with locals who are enthusiasts. The other is to keep me from looking at a profile that I know intrigues me after having already looked at it.

    I had a psychologist tell me once that closure should include un-resolve. Un-resolve is the most common form of disengagement. I've always felt that way about art, music and movies etc. Some classics are I Want You/She's So Heavy by The Beatles, Ghost World, or The Last Supper. These are all just as realistic depections of closure as most other works that include what we typically view as resolved endings.

    My efforts with ambiguity and open-endedness has enhanced my understanding of closure.

    I’m reasonably sure that @KozyKim is a reasonably good human.

    But the hypocrisy on these forums never fails to impress me.

    I thought we were all agreed that no one, ever, owes anyone an explanation for why they have stopped engaging, blocked, or ghosted someone else. (Parent/child and guardian/child relationships excepted, of course…)

    And they certainly don’t owe you a lesson in “what you did wrong”.

    Which, as most are saying and I agree with, probably has nothing to do with you.

    You don’t know it, and of course it can sting a bit in the moment, but you likely dodged an even worse problem in the future.

  • @CharlesInWI The reason this thread wasn't treated with the typical "get over it" rudeness is, in my opinion, because the OP is female, and there is rampant sexism, here. Males who post this exact "complaint" get shredded. No one seems to have the heart to treat sweet @KozyKim that way (thank goodness, she is lovely!).

    I think it's a shame men are routinely treated so differently and with such a lack of compassion. This thread shows people are certainly willing to see the other side and show understanding and support. Ironically, those who would usually hack a male to pieces for this same type of thread, have remained silent. Again, I'm grateful of this for @KozyKim's sake...I just wish we could extend the same compassion to everyone.

    Just keep in mind the old saying, "I do not want everyone to like me. I would think less of myself if some people did."

  • I had some random person message me and accused me of saying something racist in the forums then she blocked me so I couldn't ask her what I said that was racist. :/

  • @Mike403 yes I think you’re getting what I’m saying. No explanation no reason seemingly why someone would block and then they don’t even give you a chance to apologize or anything.

  • @SunsetSnuggles yes thanks everyone for not being so harsh. This is my second post about being blocked so they probably remembered my last one.
