I heard a DJ on one of the Sirius-XM satellite radio stations talk about a woman who wanted to teach her dog how to drive. She put the dog in front of the steering wheel while she operated the accelerator and brake. Yeah, they crashed.
How would the dog know what to do at a stoplight?
I think anything on the news that starts with: Florida man Florida woman
Is most likely to be a crazy story 🤣🤣
I'm from Florida... LOL!
Between sets, a DJ on a local radio station commented that the duet "Islands in the Stream" sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, was orginally written by one of the Bee-Gees who had a crush on Dolly. Apparently, it was about Dolly in a bathtub.
Dunno. It's just what I heard on the radio, that's all.
I'm cheating but I still love these
@DaveTheBrit Are those like The Onion?
Let's keep these to actual stories. Not satire ones.
Way back in High School, a teacher was busted for being part of a drug smuggling ring by transporting drugs in tombstones from Mexico.
Lol, that reminds me. Our drug prevention counselor in elementary school would later get busted for possession and growing a huge amount of pot in his home. I realized early on what a croc the war on drugs was. The man used hand puppets. In retrospect, that should have been a red flag.
I mean those actually were news stories here in the UK but I can see how utterly satirical they look. Never mind heh
@DaveTheBrit - A student actually put his books in a microwave? Wouldn't it have been easier to just carry them?
@Mike403 I don't know if the microwave/book story is true or satire, but I know some folks will purposefully go to extremes in order bring attention to, and illustrate, a ridiculous problem.
@jplemmon lmao You gotta be some kinda high for hand puppets right?
@Mike403 https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news/local-news/school-boy-takes-microwave-school-2135169
It was in protest of the school banning large bags because they could potentially injure lower year students. Yeah. Sadly stupid things like this are fairly common in England 🙄
@TxTom i did not look it up but pretty sure BeeGees wrote Islands in the Stream from my endless rock knowledge lol. Not sure about the Dolly part. Now I’ll look it up.
Ok @TxTom written by Maurice Gibb for Marvin Gaye with Diana Ross in mind but ended up with Kenny Rogers and Dolly. Who knew.lol
There are a mess of videos of kids bringing their books to school in all sorts of bag alternatives, because of the potential of them hiding weapons in their backpacks... strollers, wagons, a little tykes car, it was complete madness and a great way to push back against the rediculousness of the ban.
My 7th grade science teacher showed us this insane scar on his stomach and told us it was from a racoon he'd had since it was a baby, and how one day he came home and upon letting it out of it's cage it attacked him. He later realized it was out of it's mind from consuming the entire pot plant the guy had growing next to it.
Leason: don't grow your weed right next to your imprisoned wildlife???
A friend of mine, when younger, was about to go hang out with some old friends from school that she hadn't seen in years. When she was going to get into their car, she heard "NO!" She quickly devised a reason to excuse herself from going, saying that she'd maybe join them at another time..
That evening, while at home flipping through the tv channels, her remote stopped working when the tv was showing a local news station. She tried to click past the station, but it wouldn't move.
Pictures of the young women with whom she was to party came up. They'd been arrested for smuggling drugs!!!! If my friend would have been along, she would have been considered guilty by association and arrested along with them!!!
Some of her stories give me the "willies", but it's kind of cool that we've got inner guidance in situations like these!
@Mike403 that’s a crazy dog story! @Umoja great story, gave me chills.
A woman I used to work with had a friend whose son had passed away, and the way it happened was very crazy...
One day after work a bunch of his co-workers had a party and like any normal party there were some drinks involved. Her friend's son never drank, however, this night they were celebrating some big account and he decided to have one beer. After drinking the beer he was not feeling very well so he went to the backyard to get some fresh air which then turned to him puking, while leaning over a fence. Somehow his tie got stuck on the fence and because he was a little buzzed from the beer and puking he tried to loosen himself away. By doing this he made the tie even tighter and he eventually choked himself to death.
This is not the only crazy part of the story. Normally he would call his Mom to check in. However, to maybe even 3 days went by and she never heard from him so she called his phone. When she didn't hear back from him she decided to call his job and that's when she found out. No one from the police department called her and no one from his job called her either.
@carrieanne It's interesting how songs are commonly swapped between musicians. The Dolly crush doesn't make much sense, but the DJ said it. Perhaps the lyrics were changed before getting in the studio?
@Umoja That reminds me, I'll never forget the story of the guy who was late and missed his flight because his dog bit him as he was leaving his house. His flight was one of the ill-fated planes on September 11.
But the most cringe worthy story related to 9/11, and it probably isn't true, is the husband who worked on one of the top floor offices at the WTC, who decided to skip work and spend the day with his secret love interest.
Later that afternoon, after lots of passionate love-making, he turned on his cell phone to find multiple messages from his wife, crying, hysterical, is he okay, pleading with him to answer his phone.
He called her back saying that he's fine and okay, but that he was going to stay late at the office, and that he'd be home later than usual that night.
I had heard that the Apollo 11 crew were tempted to report the presence of a large black monolith. Sadly, they decided not to.
@Wizegurl ~ Wow. How unbearably sad... I can't even begin to imagine what THAT must have been like for her..
@CuddleHugs01234 ~ Seriously!!! She's got stories that raise the hairs on my arms AND ankles!!! She's one of the most amazing human beings I've EVER had the honor to know, so I kind of understand why she's SO "protected"! But her stories still give me the "willies"!!! lol
@TxTom~ I've got a saying, speaking of "protection," that if anything bad is going to happen, it can only happen either BEFORE I get there, or AFTER I leave! "As you have believed, be it unto you" is one of the scriptural affirmations that I kept after leaving religion...and it has proven, time and again, quite true!
It would be fun to hear the crazy (in a good way) stories from the Cuddle world. How has being involved with cuddling brought a cool story into your life?
I heard this story on a morning radio show several years ago. The hosts were taking calls from listeners sharing stories about their lives, and one caller had this to say:
He had been celebrating Mother's Day with the family, and was telling his mother how wonderful she was and how much he loved her, when she suddenly broke down in tears. She then explained that the family had kept something very significant secret from him. Was he adopted? No. The man and woman he thought were his parents were actually his grandparents. His sister, thirteen years older than him, was actually his mother. The caller did not elaborate on who his real father was, or the circumstances of his conception.
The hosts were dead silent for about 30 seconds after that!
Mine is crazy similar to @jplemmon's! The cop who ran the D.A.R.E. program at my boyfriend's school was later arrested for selling drugs to kids.

Today I heard about an alien that crash-landed on Earth, wore glasses as a disguise, and saved people.
In other news, I found a really pretty green rock today!
It’s kinda my story but here goes:
I was in Italy in a train station and a homeless man asked me for a lighter. I said “I got you” and gave him mine. He then asked where I was from because he hadn’t heard that phrase in a while. I said NYC and he said Brooklyn, right?
Turns out he was born in Naples, came to the US as an infant and was raised in the Bronx. He went on to say how he and his brother got into the Pizzaria business and subsequently the drug dealing business to supplement income.
He said he would also occasionally see this woman very casually only on Saturdays and she would always call before she came. He said one day she came by on a random Tuesday with no call and was visibly anxious when he opened the door. She asked if he still sold insert drug here and he said he did not. He noted that she was shifty and decided to dodge the question again when she asked.
He said someone pushed her aside and started firing a gun at him. He pulled his shirt up to show his upper hip bullet wound scar from the shot he took. He said as he was falling he pulled his weapon and fired once killing this guy. The woman ran away and he drug the body inside and passed out from the pain.
He said he woke up about a day and a half later and made his way to a vet to have the bullet removed. I asked why he didn’t go to the hospital and he reminded me that he was undocumented and afraid of being deported/explaining how he got shot.
He decided to dismember the body and dispose of it in various waterways in NYC. He said months passed and he thought he was in the clear when one day a leg washed up on the beach.
He spent 24 years in prison for the murder and was then deported to Naples where he had no connections, no history and he didn’t speak Italian. He’s been on the street ever since.
