Unapproachable make up

  • @stormydaycuddle Unfortunately, I have firsthand (first foot?) proof that steel-toed boots don't work either. 😭

Perhaps if men stopped making women feel unsafe or sexualized simply for existing women would not need to try different things to deter us.

I can look intimidating with or without makeup. I have mastered the resting bitch face when needed.

My footwear is also quality leather And can often add to my unapproachability. I either look like I can kick ass or almost six foot tall.

  • @KYtransplant Oh my gosh those boots are so cute!! Love the strappiness.

@SunsetSnuggles Too bad there aren’t more sunsets out there! I’ve been told by many guys and gals that if I want dating success I’d need to be confident. And the confident ones often do well with dates. Two of my dates even mentioned they wanted me to be more confident ON the date.

@natickben Agreed, but that’s a long and difficult battle to change culture. No one says outloud if they’re okay with harassing behaviors. And a lot of people keep their private lives private even if something bad happened, they might not tell someone.

  • I've never been on a date, so I don't know what that is. After so many unsuccessful attempts on dating sites, I decided to just throw in the towel. Getting platonic cuddles from pros on this site never required me to be good at my communication skills.

I apparently have resting "innocent, please corrupt me" and "looks 10+ years younger" face... I'm told I'll appreciate it more, someday 🤣 makeup helps me age myself a bit to be taken a bit more seriously, though for intimidation factor my height + weight is usually plenty lol. Most guys don't bother effing around with a gal taller than them or heavy enough to squish them 😇😈 where that fails, I just pull out Teacher Voice ™️

But then, there's those few who get off on being squished and like corruptible looking teachers, so then I just go annoying neurospicy on them 😅

When your day job is as a hotel receptionist (read: captive audience) for over a decade, you get really good at putting off people, not just men 😂👀

I have read about a makeup style that is intended as a hack to defeat facial recognition software. (Search "facial recognition makeup" to see what I mean.) I have never seen anyone wear makeup like this in real life, but if I did, I would understand if someone felt intimidated by how it looked. Personally, I would just find it an interesting topic for conversation.

    @Hugginsworth

Probably only a matter of time before “Dazzle” make-up becomes a thing, like the battleships of the pre-radar era in WWI and WWII.

  • @Hugginsworth
I have read about the anti-facial recognition makeup but the makeup is so bizarre it would make people remember you which partially defeats the purpose. I have seriously considered getting a pair of these and taking them to a friend of mine who runs a biometrics lab at a University to see how well they actually work.

  • Oh, that’s pretty cool @JohnR1972.

    Anti-biometric face-wear/make-up - so 21st century and so valid. I’m in!

  • @PrettyLuv - those glasses make a nice accessory to wear with your faraday bag 😂

I had a former co-worker who, many years ago, worked for No Such Agency. To this day he will not let anyone carry a cell phone or wear a smart watch into his house and he keeps his cell phone turned off and stored in a faraday bag whenever he is not using it.
