Hey, been wanting to try this for a while, finally got the courage to make it. New to the cuddle scene what are some tips and tricks to get going?
Can't stress this enough, and even though it's probably obvious, it often bears repeating - do not try to break Cuddle Comfort rules or push boundaries. Check in with your cuddle partner if anything feels like it could be potentially crossing a line. (Example, a hand on a hip... only because that's a very sensitive area for many, myself included.) Clear communication and respect always.

Also, try to be engaging in the forums. Its not a must but it does let others, including future cuddle partners, get a sense about you. Which could make them feel more comfortable and open to cuddles!

There are two kinds of cuddlers, here: Pro's, who charge, and enthusiasts, who do not.
When messaging Pro's, it's generally preferred that you be short and sweet, and let them know what day/time might work for you, to cuddle. Make sure you have read their profile in full, and follow any requirements in your first message. Pro's typically do not chit-chat back and forth; they want their time respected, as this is their job.
When messaging enthusiasts, it's generally preferred that you take more time getting to know each other and building trust. Enthusiasts often like to message back and forth before setting up a meeting, and it's best not to ask to meet in your first message; let them decide.
For both enthusiasts and Pro's...be respectful, and do not try to do anything remotely sexual.
When it comes to cuddling, I would recommend searching for a group cuddle in your area (try MeetUp, EventBrite, etc.) that follows CuddleParty rules where they teach boundaries and consent before the open cuddling portion of the afternoon begins. It's an amazing way to get started on the right foot, meet a lot of the community, and see what platonic cuddling is all about.
