I have an inherent and deep distrust of authority.
Which is why I have (hypothetically) never revealed my hidden powers.

I’m a flawed human but I am just one flawed human. I trust myself over a committee of flawed humans (especially flawed humans that seek power) every time.
I read a book about a year ago entitled “the truth about magic”. It was more or less a history / philosophy book about beliefs regarding supernatural powers.
The thing I found most interesting in the book was the definition of “black magic”. Black magic, according to the author, was any use of magic power to deprive another person of their own free will.
My first thought was that the world is full of people who live to wield that type of power.
Ah Marvel's Superhero Registration Act(comics) Or the Sokovia Accords(movies).
I would keep it to myself because I wouldn't want to be drafted basically to conflicts I may feel I don't belong in
Yea totally agree great power comes great responsibility but if I did turn evil I guess we all be screwed if there isn't another person with powers to go against me lol
it’s a balance of power. There are a lot of people that do bad things and there are people who do good things. I would say the main difference between the two is that it seems that people that do bad try to shift the power into their favor. Good people just seem to want to protect what they have.
I guess it would also depend on the power. If my power was able to help a lot of people I may go public with it. But if it was something that seemed to only benefit me, I'd probably keep it to myself.
@Jova114 "Super powers" could maybe fall under the MRA, "Mutant Registration Act," which was used to track, imprison and target mutants. I'm with you, keep quiet because others would forcibly use me/my powers for nefarious purposes.
