What is your favorite part of life?!?

Hello everyone,

So I'd love to get to know everyone better! And this is my favorite question to ask ?

What is your favorite part of life?

Mine is spending quality time with friends and family! Second would be travelling and meeting new people and having new experiences. Third would be cheese ?

  • I’m with you on 1&2 as for third I think I would choose cuddles if I had any ?

My family and friends are my heart and soul, so that would most definitely be numero uno!

Second, is probably volunteering in my community. I LOVE the feeling I get from these wonderful and grateful people. To help other human beings is a completely high to me. I volunteer at my church, at a homeless shelter once a month, walk dogs at the SPCA and visit a dementia patient 3 times per week. I am humbled and appreciative to be able to do this.

Third, steamed crabs and cold beer!

  • @andy8502 cuddles are definitely top five! ?

@Scarlette that's awesome! You are one very busy bee! ??

  • My favorite part is waking up in the morning and realizing I am still alive. It's especially good when it's the weekend and I realize not only am I alive but I don't have to go to work.

  • The relationship I have with my wife is my favorite part of my life.

  • finding things that ignite a passion within me. ^.^ Laughter, and music are two of my favorite things

  • I love finding something fascinating to learn or develop.

  • My son is my favorite part of life. No competition. He is my heart. I'd do anything for my little man

  • Humans are my favorite part of life! They (we?) are so fascinating, surprising, hilarious, and full of depth. I love getting to know humans as individuals and as a species.

  • Such awesome answers! Thank you all for sharing ?

  • @Sashamcgee thank you for such a lovely thread!

  • Friends and family. Cuddles (had to get that in there somewhere on this thread.) Shared meals and talking around the dinner table. Walks in the rain. Sand between my toes. Hot oil massage. A nibble of fresh chocolate chip cookies paired with a stout beer. A child's giggle. Breathing. Yoga. Laughing so hard your cheeks and abs hurt. Travel. Sunrises. Sunsets. Butterflies. Calvin Klein underwear models.

The part at the end where I get tagged, bagged, burned, and urned

  • @Scarlette I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm loving it!

@Sideon I'm glad you enjoy so much in life ?

    @pmvines that's slightly morbid lol

Hmm... I like the fact that I'm aware of my own awareness. I enjoy being able to think. I guess my favorite part of life is existing.

My next favorite part would be data. And, like @HugsFromFei, I especially like data regarding humans!

  • @Sashamcgee I suppose, its all part of my humor, cant take me too seriously. I do work In hospice, so I am around death and dying so much it doesn't really bother me. In fact it allows me to see the beauty and peacefulness in death, of that transition, of no longer suffering and being trapped in a body and mind that wont allow you to live, in a sense. My bestie is a birth doula and we often joke that I am a death doula, that our jobs parallel just different ends of the life cycle.

I'm sorry is that too emo?

  • @pmvines I actually completely understand all of that lol I'm not sure I would say it's my favorite part of life, BUT I understand the peace in death and not being afraid of it. I've oddly never been afraid of my own death. Soo basically it's only slightly emo ?

  • @Sashamcgee I never really understood the fear of death. It happens to everyone, when you think about it death is literally the only thing that every living person has in common with one another. Unless you are Charlie Sheen in which case you are immortal

  • @pmvines well death and a heartbeat lol those are the two things we all have in common ?

As for Charlie sheen I have no words haha

  • @Sashamcgee Technically there are people whose hearts don't beat but are rather kept alive artificially by machines so technically death wins as the ultimate equalizer but... I wont split hairs too much lol

  • @pmvines they don't have any machines that make your heart pump, do they? I thought those were just breathing machines and such. Hmm I'll be doing some research tomorrow ??? never too old to learn!

  • @Sashamcgee You are correct, I am more so referring to the paddles and what not that bring you back. Just me continuing the argument at any cost lol

  • So the finality of death is what we all have in common, whereas one's heart can stop and then start beating again. But death is death, final and fatal! Ok I stop now, before I completely turn your thread into something other than your intended purpose

@pmvines ahhh my favorite words "you are correct" ????

But the paddles don't actually make your heart beat. They just out your heart beat back to its intended rhythm, from what I understand that is!

Edit: hahaha I'll give you that!

Actually using a machine to pump blood instead of a heart is quite common
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiopulmonary_bypass

Longer term pumps are also around, though they're not as common
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventricular_assist_device

They're certainly not amazing but they can be used to keep people alive until they find a replacement heart.

    edit---------
and yes defib devices essentially shock your heart back into rhythm....hopefully.

  • @JasonCuddles you're a peach! You saved me from having to do research! ?

  • @Sashamcgee See, I told you so!!

  • edited March 2018

    @pmvines alright, alright!

To be fair I said I was going to research and didn't just outright say you were wrong hahah

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

[me, randomly popping up from nowhere] Oh yes, that's right, @Sashamcgee, you did! I would like to give you a cookie for that—anyone who doesn't say "you're wrong" until they've looked stuff up deserves a whole jar of cookies. Have some cookies!

    ???
    ???
    ???

(I think these ones are chocolate chip. They look chocolate chip to me. Hmm. I hope you like chocolate chip, because I don't know how to get any different flavors online.)

  • @DarrenWalker thank you! Thank you! I looove chocolate chip, in fact you sent me too many! I might eat them all at once! ??

Oh I make sure I never tell someone they are wrong unless I KNOW it! Otherwise I'll just look silly ?
