Imagine a world where each day around 1-2 pm you got a paid hour nap time.
I feel like that would benefit everybody.
It'd be one of my changes if I ruled the world.
Haha I thought this was gonna be a thread about Pro's who sleep through their sessions, until I saw the OP, then I was like, nope, it's gonna be something nice! π

@SunsetSnuggles Lol I'm glad I'm known for positivity. Even if a Pro fell asleep during a session, I wouldn't mind. Just means they are as relaxed as I am
@Jova114 or that you're boring them.
Yes please.
@Concordiaesque lol Regardless, they have a nice nap π
@Mela_B Let's start a petition lol
@Concordiaesque
@SunsetSnuggles How does one not like cuddling?? It's the best!!
@Jova114
@SunsetSnuggles sighs That's a shame
@SunsetSnuggles...I don't know how to do that spoiler effect...or that I should be hiding my words? haha
I don't have any experience cuddling, so my initial reaction was, "omgs, ppl do that!?"
My reply to @Jova114 - I shared with him that ppl used to often hand me fussy babies, because I seem to be something of a "baby whisperer" and my energy soothes them to sleep...but I always say it's just because I'm boring
You do it by putting [ spoiler ] and then what you want to say, followed by [ / spoiler ]. Just with no spaces. π Don't worry about it though, it's just something some people do.
@SunsetSnuggles
woo hoo, I did a thing
@Jova114 I am imagining a world where people can take naps from 1-2 pm, but this just makes me sad bc everyone I know lives in a different time zone from me, so I'd still be napping alone :P
Years ago, we had an anonymous suggestion box at work, and I put in that we should have a siesta after lunch every day. My boss guessed that it was my Mexican co-worker who suggested it. π€¦π»ββοΈ
@Concordiaesque Use your vampire powers to come and find someone for Nap Time.
@SunsetSnuggles That is funny and racist lol I asked my boss 'how do I retire?' He responded 'lol you're too young' So I replied 'wow it's 2023. Don't discriminate '
@Jova114 Right? π¬
@SunsetSnuggles I identify as 'retired' lol
So basically a siesta?
I technically got paid for a nap when both my client and I fell asleep for about 20-30 minutes during a three hour session. π I was like "OMG, I'm so sorry, it's not my job to sleep", and he said "In that moment it was mine." He'd been having issues with sleeping, so I guess he needed it. π π₯΄
@WriterGF Si
@PixiePassions Awww I'm glad it worked out
Technically i get paid nap time now thanks to short term disability and a reduced schedule to accommodate my chronic illness which includes anemia that makes me extra tired and i take a lot of naps.
TLDR its great and everyone should get paid naps
@Jova114 Sounds nice ππΏ Sign me up lol π
@oberon Sorry to hear about the disability but happy to hear you get paid naps!
@SuperManCuddles My man!
oh I would go for this!
@Lithellyl Yes Join the movement....of non movement
Lol @ the movement of non movement.
Reading @oberon's addition to our conversation reminded me of when I worked at a domestic violence shelter from 12am-8am - I could sleep on the couch as long as there were no intakes and none of the residents needed someone to talk to, as I was mostly there to man the phones (as it was a 24/7 shelter). So technically, I did get paid for sleeping.
@SunsetSnuggles i π― thought the exact same thing because how many times have I heard that story. And then I saw whose thread it was and again, the same! And itβs called a Siesta or Riposoβ¦businesses/ museums etc closed midday for a break definitely in Spain, Portugal, Italy when I was there. You knew you couldnβt shop,or get much done during those hours. Isnβt it still done and well known?? https://beelinguapp.com/blog/siestas-around-the-world
@carrieanne So basically the world pays people to nap except America Smh
Oh goody!! I'd like my nap within an hour of clocking in please (or whenever I get through the sloggery of emails that were awaiting my arrival and I've written out my 'soon to be interrupted for some perceived emegency'/'to do today list'). Thanks π«
