@BoomerSpooner Ah I see, when I hear celebration what comes to mind for me is like an organized event be it a little birthday get together, or something much bigger. Though, if you consider just being happy about something a celebration, then you could say that I'm celebrating.
@JohnR1972 The Human Rights Campaign link provided earlier contains extremely biased language, as the bills describe therein do no such thing such as "outlaw" the LGBTQ community. This is a ridiculous assertion.
Our public education is in dismal shape. Our kids are way behind in the critical knowledge skills they'll need in order to have a productive life and benefit our country as a whole. Our youth need to concentrate on learning math, reading, writing, shop, civics, and home economics. They do not need to be distracted with extremely graphic sexual material that was regarded too inappropriate to even be read at a school board meeting.
And this topic is about to turn into political debate ...

Ouch. I can see that but I've seen time and again that people who are self congratulatory tend to have this "we did it" mentality and then pivot to something else.
Had it been to celebrate benchmarks towards a final goal, I'd have been much more inclined to choose that [because cake!! 🍰] because it lays out the intention of 'there's more to be done' along with the 'keep up the good work done/currently doing' too.
It doesn't matter how much better we are than other places when we treat people as non-people.

@BoomerSpooner I just shrug and ignore the apologists. They're not going to see what they don't want to see, and will do all sorts of mental gymnastics to avoid seeing it. Not at all surprising.
