Mathcore is actually a genre...and my boyfriend and I are going to a show, next month!

I do love all types but if I had to pick one it'd be rap/hip hop
I chose Rock but I'm mostly a Hard Rock/Metal/Synth guy. I'd listen to anything if it appeals to me though.

@DaveTheBrit That's nice, I'm not too familiar with any of them. Linkin Park is probably all I've listened to in that ballpark.
@Lovelight Math is a subgenre of every genre, both metaphorically and literally. The term originated with Math Rock. Math Rock is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), counterpoint, odd time signatures, and extended chords. Anyone who incorporates these characteristics into their music is considered mathy, or Math (Plus their main genre).
