It's 2023, and as times goes on, there is much that is deemed offensive (done with just cause).
So what's not offensive in 2023?

I am sure there are plenty of things a person could volunteer for that would be deemed offensive.
@JohnR1972 True. Did I use the proper term? Or maybe affirmative, but that may show some sort of support for the armed forces or the police force.
Nothing is offensive if you choose to not let it bother you. 🙃

@Minestrone101 - I can be offended but a person has to try pretty hard to do it. My comment above was about people who seem to constantly be looking to be offended - they can always find something. You mentioned showing support for the police, that is a very controversial subject among some groups.
You also mentioned saving people’s lives. Are you suggesting all lives matter? Saying that will definitely get you in trouble with some people.
@PixiePassions - I loved that movie. I was working for GM at the time that movie was being made and GM was approached by the studio and asked if they could borrow all of GM’s futuristic concept cars (hand made pre-prototypes) that GM takes to auto shows around the world. Many of the cars seen in the movie were real, one of a kind, cars built by GM.
You think you would run out of credits quickly for violating the verbal morality code? I’n more concerned about the 3 sea shells 😂

The thing that seems to offend most is being called out on lack of empathy. And it would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
"Others are so offended!" someone said my behavior was apathetic.... "I'm so offended how dare you?!"
I absolutely love how some comments suggested being offended by push back AHEAD of time. hahahaha.

@jubal - I could not agree more. 👍 When I was in my teens and early 20s, I thought George Carlin was offensive. I now see him as a very wise man who was about 30 or 40 years ahead of his time.
Defense is usually not offensive Unless there is a steal/interception But then the defense is automatically turned into offense.

I did quote the comment because people often cry censorship when offended by those who are offended. So it did lead to the inspiration for my comment but not a commentary on that one.

Edit: I spent some time in Singapore where the government forces integration all the way down to regulating the ratio of Muslims, Hindus and Christians who can live in the same apartment building. If you own an apartment building and a Muslim family moves out, you can only rent that empty apartment to another Muslim family.
The government does this because they want to avoid having a predominantly Muslim neighborhood in one area and a predominantly Christian or Hindu neighborhood in another area. When people are integrated, they may get on each other’s nerves but they learn to get along. Segregation usually leads to an “us vs them” mentality regardless of why the segregation was implemented.
So only the topics YOU approve of are worthy of offense. Got it. I'm NOT disagreeing with you on the topic. It is messed up. Horribly. And people should say something.

Nothing. There is nothing in this world that is never offensive 100 percent of the time to absolutley everybody on this planet . And if there is one thing I've learned from being on this site since 2016 is that there is a heavily weighted disproportionate sample size of extremely easily triggered individuals. Which means there are most likely at least several people shaking their fists and yelling out their windows about any number of the non offensive items noted in this very thread.
You're always doing/saying something wrong according to someone.
Best thing you can do for yourself is to not let their reactions offend you.
People are free to be offended, or not, about anything they want. Some people are just much more prone to find / take offense than others.

@Minestrone101 Yeah, sadly I think all of the above can be offensive to some people in some way.
Cats: offend dog loyalists, many people are allergic, domestic free roaming cats kill a lot of local wildlife. cats are responsible for an estimated 15% of internet traffic, driving server prices and essentially the price of the whole internet up
volunteering: if you volunteer for the wrong cause, or something that is political, it will upset potentially a lot of people
-saving people's and animal's lives: some people don't like certain people to be saved, especially if it costs money. some people are convinced that other people need to save themselves even if they are badly in need, some people are upset when animals are saved because they think that that time/resources would be better spent on saving human lives
-graduating from high school: some people think that the public school system is too liberal, including the high schools, and they should go straight to work as soon as possible. Also schools cost tax payer dollars especially if the schools want better programs and pay for teachers, people get upset if you were a contributor
And other myriad of reasons to get upset
Visually, smiles are almost never offensive.
I’ve read that the smell of baking bread is almost universally regarded as pleasant in every culture, so that is rarely offensive.
Laughter appears to be considered a pleasant sound in every culture.
Sweet tasting foods.
Enjoying a gentle breeze outside.
@sunnysideup Okay... but cats are evil overlords who want to kill us all. It doesn't offend me but people who want tiny murders in their house do raise eyebrows.
Another note: Aside from the illogical thinking about cats I think this thread is pretty funny. Anyone who's been on this forum for longer than 10 seconds knows we're ALL offended quite frequently. And saying you're not is eye roll

Everything is offensive. Nothing is offensive. "Offensive", much like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Here are a few examples:
➡️ Maybe I find kittens offensive. They sneak around and climb up on you with those sharp claws. ➡️ There are hundreds of volunteer jobs you could take where people would consider you a horrible person. ➡️ Saving lives sounds safe enough. But what if you save lives through your research and your research facility experiments on animals in a way that offends others? ➡️ Graduating from school means you probably invested money into some heartless, money-making machine that cranks out cookie-cutter graduates who can't think for themselves and you should have saved your money and taught yourself instead. And I'm terribly offended that you didn't... and by everything else you think, say, or do. 🤣🤣🤣
