Happiest moment

Hi everyone,

There's been a little drama on here lately so why don't we all share the happiest moment of our lives! Can't fight about that ?

I've had some very happy moments in my life thankfully! I think my happiest moments are that moment when you realize you've made a real connection with someone new. This world can be so full of people distracted and disingenuous, so when you make that meaningful connection there's nothing like that!

Can't wait to hear yours!

  • @Sashamcgee I agree with and second your happiest moment! I don't really have too many people at all who I consider friends,, being married and divorced back to back and moving around a lit will make you lose touch with people, and in order to not be a drug addict and a criminal i had to abandon the majority of my childhood friends, so this site is a good surrogate for socialization. There is nothing like the excitement you get from meeting a new cool person you connect with. There is something very child like about itl

The boards seem very peaceful if you ask me. I’ve seen all out wars on here in the past lol

@pmvines thank you ? I couldn't agree more, it's so pure. You really can't fake it when it happens, you just know it in your gut!

@Morpheus I really wish you would have taken the time to share your happiest moment, since you already took the time to post. I truly would love to hear it!

  • There are far too many happy moments in my life to choose from. Every moment I get to spend with my wife are my happiest moments.

  • Im with @Morpheus .... my cup truly runneth over. I have been blessed, beyond belief, in this life. Every second that I spend with my family in the same room is my new happiest time.

  • @Morpheus and @Scarlette I agree! So many happy moments to choose from! Thanks for sharing ?

  • It's goofy, but the old dog I found on the street and was blessed to have with me for three years gave me my happiest moments. My most cherished was how he would lie in his bed and stare at me sitting on the couch with sleepy eyes as he drifted off to sleep. You never know when your last time seeing someone you love will be, so see them every moment you have :-) He gave me plenty of warm fuzzies and laugh out loud moments, but that is my fondest happy memory :-)

  • @ubergigglefritz that's so sweet! I love dogs! ?

  • I suppose mine would be any time I feel loved and make someone else feel loved - particularly if done at the same time :)

  • I'm with @Scarlette ... "my cup truly runneth over," too. Happiest moments include my extended family, both chosen and biological.

  • I seem like a negative nancy but I'm really not all that much of a cheery, happy person. Wish i could be more like you @Scarlette and @Sideon , but my brain just isn't built that way. Some are glass is half full or half empty, and im more a what glass, i dont see no stinking glass! Have a hard time feeling satisfied, and am restless from the time I open my eyes. So for me when I do have those things that are positive and that make me happy it is very meaningful to me, and tends to stand out. Like that feeling you get when you haven't eaten all day and you stop and get a slice of the best pizza ever

  • @pmvines My behavior is a big cover for way too many issues, most of which I can't spell (or care to learn). Even if you think you're coming across as Eeyore, I do think your sense of humor is top notch.

    You got me at pizza.

@Sideon See that is the thing. How I come across is not necessarily congruent with that space in between the ears. There is a statistic that many comedians are actually very depressed, even suicidal. Someone having a fun and witty persona doesn't mean that's necessarily the way they are, just that is how they wish to portray themselves

  • Sorry, I can bit a bit emo sometimes lol

  • Touché. I'll match your congruence and raise you the "fun" of everyone assuming I'm straight - or arguing that I couldn't possibly be gay. Is it appropriate to use an ex as evidence?

@Sideon Hey I know people who have been married with children who are gay lol, just were stuck feeling they had to be someone they weren't . My mother went through a period of thinking I was gay cus all my friends were girls and I never seemed to date or hook up with any of them. Like no, not gay, just in the eternal friend zone lol .

One thing I have thought of is this. My son's friend In HS is gay, and he has stayed at his house several times. When one is a child it is customary to not sleep over with members of the opposite sex due to not wanting them to hook up etc. If you are gay, does the same thing apply to members of the same sex? I mean just because you are gay doesn't mean a kid sleeping over means you are going to be having sex, after all, your friend isn't necessarily going to be gay, or have attraction between the two. However the same thing goes for kids of opposite sex. I have slept over at a number of girls homes as a teen and they at mine, and as an adult have done the same, without it resulting in sex. Just wondering if there is a crossover re that. I dunno where all this stream of consciousness tangent is coming from but for some reason It was brought to mind. And is also terribly off topic too lol

  • @pmvines You know, I often wonder if my funny friends are truly happy or not for that exact reason. With one friend in particular, I try to dig deep on occasion ;-) There's a lot hiding behind people's actions and behavior that most people don't see...

Oh, and I still am sad about Robin Williams :-( Depression and suicide is a rough thing...

    I agree with everyone. ^_^

Although I see the appeal and values of genuine connections!

If I had to award one thing I would say having an ice cream on a warm-sunny day under a tree shade is a really happy moment for me. Additionals are being in the company of friendly cat(s) and or friendly person(s). :)

  • I had to think really hard about this. I moved from England to the USA many years ago, separating from my entire family. For various reasons, I was only able to get back to visit about six times in over thirty years. So those visits and seeing my family again were probably the happiest moments. Leaving them to return home after each visit were the saddest moments.

  • Aww @UKGuy love your story :-( Both lovely and sad at the same time. Cherish every moment you get, even if few... I really hope you are successful in finding someone close to cuddle. I send a big virtual hug :-)

  • @UKGuy thank you for sharing!

Thank you all for sharing! I love it ?

I am happy about life in general. It's hard to choose one particular moment. Mostly I am just grateful to have made it this far and to be alive. :)

  • My happiest moments have been when I travel abroad, spending time with my friends at their homes in India, and meeting and cuddling some of the people I've met on CC.
