  • I am the Patient Advocate/Grievance Coordinator at a forensic hospital. I'm a psychologist/Behavior Analyst by training. Outside of my day job I work as a sports writer and announcer for several local colleges and professional teams.

  • So many cool and interesting occupations!
    I am amazed!
And happy to hear that a lot of you actually help people.

  • I’m a beekeeper.

My small office space :) Working... mostly... currently writing articles. Yes, I'm aware with those post it notes my ADHD shows. This is procrastination at its finest.

  • I'm the commander of a nuclear submarine. Cuddling definitely helps dealing with the stresses of work.

    @stormydaycuddle where the paperclips ???!!!

  • @sooson the supply cart behind the desk. There are also some on the banister ledge. :)

  • @stormydaycuddle I noticed your Things to Do pad and a list of names from this site with notes scrawled next to them that say “Definitely kill”, “thin ice” and “leaning towards a dirt nap.”

I like the way you think.

@AirForceAngela I have you beat. I am a vowel keeper.

Didn't notice the names. The picture is actually from this summer. :) I took it down asap. I think that was my respond to list... but I don't remember the notes. Hahaha

Edit: Okay, thank you for clarifying that it was a joke. The picture is a little old so... I was terrified there was actually a list of names. I do have a "respond to" list. But I'm glad its not actually there. I'm blind as hell so yikes. My desk now doesn't have the sunflowers. I thought that picture was prettier. Re-posting it. Its my favorite and best representation of my desk. Probably need a new one.

  • I am a paint contractor and I gig on the side as a percussionist.

  • I couldn't resist 😂:

90% of my day, I corral people into filing the right documents when I need them. When they don't, I include their bosses so I can get my job done. that and holding meetings that could have been an email.

  • @cudbud64 so you herd cats in all places? :)

  • 😂😂 @stormydaycuddle cats would be easier than humans, I wish

I am a CNC programmer/machinist. I essentially tell machines what to do to make stuff. I work with mostly prototypes and concepts so its always new every day. It's great! Here's a short machining video if anyone is interested :

  • @stormydaycuddle such a fancy setup. You already saw my mess of a work desk. Though I will say other people have contributed to that mess by leaving papers, taking supplies from my desk and not returning them (hence me starting to write my name on things or hide them deep in the drawers), etc. Mostly because my desk is right next to the color copier/printer that everyone uses. Your chair looks more comfy than mine too.

  • @CSnMUS87 lol, ty for the picture of it. Love to see workspaces. Also, someone stole office supplies from you? Point me at them!!!!

  • @stormydaycuddle Oh I've gotten used to my desk being treated as the office supply closet. I even got some shock pens that worked like a charm. 😁😇

  • I’m retired for the 2nd time. When I moved to Florida I ended up working at a Marina, boat service and sells. Ended up going out on my own and opened a boat dealership and after 26 years I sold it to one of my workers and retired. After a few weeks I ended up transporting a few boats for other dealers and before I knew it I was back in business again. I like to drive so I ended up going to 35 different states and nearly 400K miles. I just retired that business early this year. So now I stay busy with my toys at home and try to go camping for a week to 10 days every month.
I’m set up to take my motorcycle and my RV, love going north to the WV, TN, NC mountains. Life is to short it not have fun

  • @Tygus
    Ok that’s awesome 😎

  • @Tygus my friend who was a former underwater welder is trying to get into that. 🤗

@Tygus I was just on a factory floor today talking to a machinist on a CNC and it was pretty cool. I am always around CNCs but I only get a chance once in a blue moon to actually see them in action while an expert explains the process.

@CharlieBear, @BoomerSpooner I agree! I really enjoy it. Been doing it for almost 15 years now and have made some really cool stuff.

@stormydaycuddle I definitely recommend it! Your friend almost certainly won't make as much money as they did when they were under water welding. But the work is really gratifying. Taking something from a block of metal and turning it into something tangible and useful is very fulfilling, at least for me.

  • @Tygus i believe it. I made things out of copper for a while and it’s not the same thing but it was super fun creating in that medium.

  • I've been a dance teacher since I was 15, was a licensed teacher in schools til I moved back to CA and my license didn't transfer, womp womp. Been doing after school programs, summer school, city rec programs, and private studios the past 6 years.

During the pandemic and with my health declining I've had to lean more heavily into my "day job" gigs to cover the bills, mostly office admin work now but I formerly worked in hotels for 16 years. It's not certain with my current health issues if I'll ever be able to go back to teaching full time, so I'm now having to contemplate a major career change and weighing my options.

  • I'm an apiary orthopedist. My job is the bees knees.

  • I work as a service writer at the busiest auto body repair facility in the Atlanta/metro area.
