Cuddling is an experience that relaxes you and is pretty private. If you have cuddled with two people or a group, why? Did you have a need inside and what was the feeling inside after the experience?
I cuddled with two of my favorites and we had a great time. I wanted to try it with the hope that we all would connect well together. I believe we each benefited from this special snuggle time.
I have always been a touch-averse person but I learned about cuddling from TikTok and reached out to one of those accounts as they were local to me and it was amazing. I then found this site and started on this cuddle journey of mine. I never thought anyone, especially enthusiasts, would wanna cuddle with me. It’s been an exceptionally great experience.
I have cuddled in various groups. It's a different thing from cuddling in private with one person, and equally valuable. Groups are a big part of the cuddle world: Cuddle Comfort is just one corner of the cuddleverse. I wouldn't say it's a 'need' but it has made me more comfortable with the idea of cuddling men.
I've also cuddled with two professionals, who are friends and work as a pair. I hadn't met either of them before. This was very much a special treat and it was driven by my curiosity as to what it might be like. I had previously cuddled with two people (or more) simultaneously but only in various forms of group setting.
It was lovely, obviously, and in some ways better than cuddling one person. But it wasn't as big a difference as I thought it might be, and of course you lose things as well as gain. Overall I would cheerfully recommmend it to anybody who isn't especially concerned with the cost. But I'm on a tight cuddling budget and it's not something I would repeat, although I was very glad I did it. (Which is not a reflection on the professionals involved, who were marvellous.)
In some ways, I prefer cuddle parties/puddles as the increased variety and sensory input helps keep my ADHD in check. I try to make time for all the types of cuddles, as they all have different "flavors" and benefits for me.
As someone who is polyamorous, I can say that cuddling with two romantic partners is different than cuddling two platonic cuddle partners, and cuddling with the polycule is different than cuddling with a bunch of strangers/acquaintances at a party. Even though the actions are the same, the vibe is different. Some of my polycule is having a cuddle puddle movie night tonight, and I'm so excited because there's going to be several "new" people I haven't cuddled before! While the familiarity of cuddling with loved ones is wonderful, getting to also cuddle their other loved ones makes it even more special.
I’ve been in several cuddle parties, both as a facilitator and as a participant. I just love the experience of cuddling in a group, I’ve met so many people and made some wonderful friends.
The group setting has been particularly healing for me; I’ve really been able to work on establishing and communicating my own boundaries around touch, being clear about asking for what I want, removing any self judgement around expressing my own needs for platonic touch, and minimizing the “something must be wrong with me” internal chatter in my brain whenever I made a request and someone said no to me.
This last bit had particular impact; the healing brought from that alone was a big reason why I chose to train to facilitate cuddle party events myself and offer them where I live. Prior to that (in 2018) I would drive almost two hours each way for sessions with a pro (who isn’t on CC but someone I still occasionally visit for sessions even today). That same pro also facilitated cuddle party, so I planned in advance and timed my sessions so they would end an hour or so before her scheduled cuddle party, so I could stay and attend the cuddle party as well!
When I attended a cuddle party for the first time, I sat in the corner and went into spectator mode the first time I asked for a cuddle and was denied. A few events later, it would be a non-event if someone denied me a cuddle, it would take me all but a few seconds to either negotiate a different form of touch with the person I asked, or move on and ask someone else. I learned not to make it about me, and the moment that shift happened in my psyche, the world of social interaction opened up for me by leaps and bounds!
If you have a cuddle event near you run by a trained facilitator, I highly recommend you look into attending at least one.
