@achetocuddle - I have tried a LOT of different jerky over the years but I am very picky about what I eat today based on ingredients. I don’t want any added sugar, MSG, or other “flavor enhancers” (all of which are extremely common with many brands). Chomps, Duke, and 4505 Meats have the cleanest ingredient lists for their beef jerky / pork sticks and they taste great. In an emergency I would eat other brands but I try to stick to these brands when I can.
Edit: I am looking into getting a food dehydrator or freeze dryer to make my own jerky and to take advantage of buying fresh fruit and veggies when they are in season (and lower cost).
@Minestrone101 thanks yes it’s true I’m cooler than an Eskimo! But you know, we almost forgot, one important addition to the community in our fight against zombies, and that is @Mike403 with his analytical brain and ability to solve complicated, complex calculus problems He would be a target for his brain by The Zombies. We would definitely need to protect him!

Zombie apocalypse movies tend to suggest that the best solutions to a zombie apocalypse would be either becoming Rambo, huddling together like sheep around one semi skilled leader or becoming a bloodthirsty warlord, but humanity has spent it's entire existence evolving into societies that function the most efficiently together. 🤔 Each person has a part to play, and not everyone needs to be a strategist or skilled with weapons, people also need food, shelter, medical care, crafting skills, community builders to keep up morale, lookouts, etc, etc. 🤘🏻 Every man for himself is a strategy that only temporarily benefits those with a very niche set of skills, and it ignores the fact that human beings are inherently social creatures. 🤷🏼
If being a Rambo/warlord was the only option to survive most people would 😵 just about as fast as I would 😅
