I've never cuddled anyone so I don't have a favorite position. Does a cat count? I liked the way my cat would wake me up by standing on my chest and kneading me with his front paws, then when I woke up he would sit on my chest and I would stroke his head and chin.
Laying on my back with my arm around her and her head resting on my chest her leg draped across mine. Been ages though ? “F” in the cuddle chart above.

Although I've never tried it and probably never will, my new favorite position (since I heard about double cuddling) is to be the middle spoon in a three spoon sandwich!
I call it the Koala hug/cuddle. IT IS NOT SEXUAL!! A lot of people misinterpret it. One person sits (or lays) and the other one straddles their lap and tucks their head in the crook of the neck while hugging the torso. Its great when one cuddler still needs to be able to use their hands for video games or holding books, etc.

I like the papa bear-mama bear position. it allows me to massage the persons back and head, very relaxing position, its not a start position for cuddling, but when their is comfort, connection, it is very relaxing. I usually start with the opposite position, the person behind me sitting, the other person is rubbing my back and head while I rub their feet .
My personal favorites are: -Spooning -Forking -Girl on top (idk what its called) -The position where one sits on the edge of the bed and the other stands up and you hug (don't know what thats called either)
Pretty much all on couch or sitting position. Arm around her or her torso slightly overlapping mine while sitting with my arm almost giving a half hug. Or sometime I just like to lend my arm out and she can kinda squeeze it like a stuffed animal ?
The bear hug is a standard for me.
