Just looking for advice, all are welcome, thanks
Hallo and welcome. Start by going to the bottom of the Home page and finding the 'Become a professional' link.
Then remove all the topless profiles from your profile. They're great photos, but they are not appropriate here.
And then read the sticky topics at the top of the professional cuddling board. Begin with the first post in each case.
Good luck!
Trust your gut π
Good advice, CuddleDuncan.
Don't solicit for cuddles. Joining in fhe discussions could be better way to introduce yourself. As someone who was considering using a pro, I got put off again when a pro continued to send me random messages. It took me a while to figure how to actually block him.
@CuddleDuncan really? Not wearing a shirt for a man is also "inappropriate"? But it's common everywhere in public, generally, so I'm confused as to the reasoning, regardless of the stated rules. So many women on this site show themselves in bikinis and swimwear, as they want potential clients to know what their bodies look like......why shouldn't a man? Some potential clients may appreciate a buff guy to cuddle
@beaubliss the site has stated repeatedly that men should not post topless photos unless there is approriate context i.e. the photo is of a circumstance where it would be common to be topless.
Women enthusiasts and potential clients have posted repeatedly to the effect that they find topless photos of men to be off-putting when considering potential cuddle partners.
In a professional cuddler it also demonstrates either an ignorance of or disdain for the rules about cuddling only when fully clothed.
Topless photos of men are off-putting. In addition to demonstrating disdain for the rules or lack of knowledge in general, it suggests not really understanding or caring about the concept of platonic cuddling.
Yeah, and donβt be holding no fish whether your photo is topless or not
@achetocuddle topless photos of men are off-putting? Is this a statement of fact? Or does it refer to your tastes? The expression of opinion as fact seems to be growing on this site....."it suggests not really understanding or caring about the concept of platonic cuddling" in your precise words. Why? Because it shows a muscled body? Would you say the same thing about the countless profiles on this site with women showing their cleavage? Or is this just a sexist position?
@beaubliss - I don't think people's remarks about topless guys are intended to be sexist. But it's important to consider the context of the situation. Girls on here are constantly having to be on guard in terms of their safety. They're regularly sent inappropriate messages by numerous guys who want more than a platonic cuddle. And recently it was discovered that there are numerous guys from an adult website who are using our site to try to find attractive, vulnerable girls who they can get alone then try to pressure them into sex. So let's pretend I'm a girl who's looking to pay for a cuddle session, I have to decide how likely it is that @Dkinley is high-quality, professional cuddler who can help me feel comfortable and safe and cared for while respecting my touch boundaries. So I click on his profile and here's what I find:
(1) He's brand new. That means he's inexperienced and I have nothing on which to base the quality of his work. (2) He has no karma and nobody has added him as a friend yet (because he's new). So again, I have nothing to base anything on. I can't send any of the people he's interacted with a DM to see if he was a good cuddler who made them feel relaxed and if they had good cuddle chemistry. (3) He's half naked in 3 of his 5 photos. So now I have to decide whether he knows that this is a platonic site, not a dating site and not a "show off my body to pick up girls" site. Because my past experience as a girl has taught me that many guys who join don't know that (or know and don't care) and will hit on me, despite what the TOS says. (Not to mention the TOS says he's supposed to cuddle in a bare minimum of a shirt and shorts, so if his profile shows him wearing less than that, it sends the wrong message.) (4) His profile description is a single sentence. There's nothing in there that reassures me that he knows it's a platonic site or that he's familiar with proper boundaries and cuddle etiquette.
In conclusion, it's not that it's "inappropriate" for him to have a topless profile photo because it will make girls blush and swoon and declare, "Oh heavens to betsy, I do believe I have the vapors!" π It's inappropriate in the sense that it could send a mixed message as to his intentions and drive away potential cuddlers. And if his goal is to "be the best pro cuddler he can be" that begins with making 100% sure girls know they'll be safe and cared for in his arms.
There are some good resources available on what makes a good profile: it's a great way to learn more about CuddleComfort best practices: https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/comment/35089/#Comment_35089 - in fact the entire FAQ is worth a good once-over for tips on how to find good success.
On a side note, I'm also weary of girls who are showing too much skin in most of their photos, because it sends a message that they might be seeking more than platonic cuddles too. There are a number of girls who try to use the site as a cover for sex work. And eventually they get caught and banned.
topless photos of men are off-putting? Is this a statement of fact?
Pretty much. I've heard dozens if not hundreds of women say that, and absolutely none say the contrary.
@beaubliss It is my opinion only. I wasn't trying to speak for other people. I don't think of it as a sexist position but I am not worried about it if that is what it means. I just feel it could benefit the OP by hearing from a woman. I didn't pay that much attention to his profile, I'm really just assuming he wants to cuddle only women. If I assumed wrongly that doesn't bother me either. I enjoyed reading your message, seriously. I like reading what other people think.
@achetocuddle You have no idea how much your openness means! There is so little of that in our culture these days, even on our cuddling site, a place I tend to think has much more thoughtfulness than usual
@beaubliss It is wonderful to hear this. You don't know how much it means to me to hear that my openness is appreciated. I think a lot of people don't like openness. I work pretty hard at wording my messages in the best way too. It's one of the reasons I don't forum post much cause it can take a lot out of me, lol.
@lonelytauros Lol, you may not have been trying to offer real advice, but I think the fish pics are not a good idea, lol. I'm sure my opinion is affected by previously dating a guy that put more effort into fishing and golf trips than me Tho I really liked him and enjoyed seeing him so happy when he got back.
@achetocuddle yes, my advice was bioengineered, but the fish was not lol π
