What's everyone up to today?

  • I realize that my post yesterday sounded pretty miserable. Funny thing while all those things were true and 2 was awful it wasn’t a bad day. It was a weird day and I fell asleep 1/2 way through the meeting. In my head it didn’t sound so dire. We will see how today goes. Maybe Starbucks will apologize. 😂

  • @stormydaycuddle Meeting is slang for nap

  • @4cuddles Here’s the pic. It’s not true milk, but sweetened condensed milk (a baking product), or you can use evaporated milk (another baking product) and sugar. I used coconut sweetened condensed milk, that had no lactose, came out softer and had an aftertaste of coconut, but it was still good. And it had to bake a bit longer. I would probably stick with the regular kind, if I could. And that would be my suggestion for a newbie, just have a regular piece of pumpkin pie. So good, my fav!! Some people put whipped cream topping on it, I personally don’t, but some do. :)

  • @JohnR1972 ”let’s bring John back, he’ll help us!” :)

  • @CuddleHugs01234 I think whip cream mellows it for me. Like balances it out. Then again I’m a firm believer that whip cream belongs on most things. I don’t personally practice that belief but you know what I’m saying.

  • Thanks to yesterday's office Thanksgiving feast I am on my second day of leftovers 😋

  • Oh this is exciting: I drove to Staten Island to get something notarized. Had to be done in the state of NY and it was JUST over the bridge. Zzzzz…In all seriousness Ive never been to Staten Island and I love going to new places, even if the occasion was purely administrative. Home to Paul Newman, Christina Aguilera, and Pete Davidson. I listened to the Wu Tang Clan on my drive home.

  • CuddlesHugs101 aww thank you so much that!! Virtual hugs. Looks yummy, can't wait to try pumpkin pie. :)

@stormydaycuddle I love seeing whipped cream on things even if I don't always eat it. Reminds me of cloud, Marshmallow, fluffiness & loveliness!

  • @stormydaycuddle I actually worded it mild earlier, I think it’s wrong to put whip cream on it, but like you said, you prefer it. Everybody has different tastes. Although, when I used to eat dairy, I would drink a glass of milk with it, so I get what you are saying.

@pmvines My family had the dinner early, so I’ve been eating it multiple times too. :)

@4cuddles You are welcome. Let me know how you like it.

  • @CuddleHugs01234 😂😂😂 are these fighting words? The morality of whip cream on pumpkin pie. We need a poll. 😂😂😂😂

  • edited November 2023

@stormydaycuddle No, definitely not fighting words. I was originally trying to be nice about it, cause it’s one thing I say is “just wrong.” 🤣🤣 I was trying to err on the nicer side with my words. 🤣🤣🤣
When I could eat whip cream, I would like it on most things, just like you, but never pumpkin pie. But, yes, a poll is needed. Maybe you could make with a large range of options, including never eaten it and just wanting to see results. 🤣🤣 That would be a funny poll.

  • I've had COVID-19 for almost 2 weeks and today is the first day I've managed to stay up out of bed longer than say an hour. I've just been sitting on the couch but I'm exhausted. I managed to go 3.5 years avoiding the plague because of how at risk for pneumonia I am, so overall this could be much worse. I've got about the worst laryngitis I've ever had, sprained my ribs coughing, but at least lungs are still mostly clear 🤞🏻

Now if only I could taste my chai, if be much happier 😅

  • @avebae oof, I feel your pain. I got my tonsils out at age 25 - just before I aged out of my dad's health insurance. One of THE best things I ever did - I haven't had strep throat since (after previously having it 2+ times a year since childhood), and regular sore throats are much more bearable now without walnut sized lumps closing off my airway. Definitely wasn't prepared for how much longer the recovery took, but then I also had nasal polyps surgery at the same time. I hope your docs get you sorted soon!

@stormydaycuddle my partner and I gave up on NaNoWriMo this year since we all came down with COVID at the same time. Figures the first year I set out to do it again since the pandemic, I actually get the bloody plague 🤣 I hope you can still celebrate how much you've done, as it's more than most!

@natickben tis the season 🙄 I always preferred the grading over the lesson planning, though. I hope you're able to take at least a little bit of a break over the holidays!

Mostly just existing. Playing video games and sleeping. I need a hobby, or really any kind of purpose. Just having some reason to get out of bed everyday would be nice.
