Hosting Fees...

Might be against the grain, but what is the deal with them? Just out them in your rate, it feels a little like a Kohl's pricing strategy. You complete the purchase and at least they show on a $30 purchase I saved $78.32 lol! We know that isn't true.

Just saying why the add-on, reflect it in your costs. Rant done.

I usually have pros fill out an itemized invoice similar to this before cuddling

  • Because they don't always host. They also do guest and public cuddles.

Many professionals can be either host or guest, with different rates. Others have various options and additions. The base rate is common to all their pricing.

Hosting fees are common. Hosting is more expensive than you might think.

The additions should be mentioned clearly in the profile text. Details should be specified before the final booking is agreed. If they are not, don't pay them. If the professional declines to amend their profile text/booking procedure, Report them.

I have declined to pay a last-minute travel fee. There is no need for us to put up with this kind of nonsense. (Fee ambushes, I mean. Explicit fees are totally fine. In my case the professional was admonished by the mods, after which she edited her profile.)

Extra fees must closely reflect actual incurred costs, because the site takes its fee based on the headline rate.

Adding a hosting fee allows the pro to post a lower hourly rate and avoid getting filtered out by price range searches . So practically charging $125 an hour while displaying an hourly rate of $100 for example.

  • I grasp some of that, but a hosting fee of $40 is not the actual cost. Good example, if you are hosting a professional should I ask for a discount based on my cost of hosting? What about hosting at a hotel, does the hothttps://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/18899#el cost get taken off in a percentage of the time being spent there?

I am sure my point is made, it is just a complaint and a little one-sided. Often times, a tips is also requested. Lol, I am not a fan of tipping at Dunkin' Donuts drive through, or Caribou Coffee either. LOl, as great natured as I am... this makes me sound curmudgeonly. Just something I find off-putting is all.

  • Yea, every pro is different. For me, I host in two different locations here in Florida. One of the spots is my actual home so I don’t expect extras or more money.

When I host in the second location, it’s just me booking a hotel in Orlando. If I have to book a hotel, the only thing I require from my cuddlers is for them to book two hours or more. I don’t charge extra or anything but the cuddle needs to be 2 hours or longer. The hotel and 15% fee the site takes comes to $100 or more so only booking one hour with me would leave me in the red.

I think pros that charge a hosting fee is either because they book a hotel or probably because there’s a lot they have to do for their home. Cleaning, laundry and then maybe inconveniencing the hubby or family members in having them leave the home for a private cuddle. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

In any case, if that fee throws you off, go to the next pro 👍🏻👍🏻

  • They want you to pay for the hotel.
Tell them you will pay for it.
Why would they deny your offer?
This site does not take their percentage from fees.
They will book multiple clients for the room.
They will charge each client for the room.

  • @cocoabomb

“ This site does not take their percentage from fees.”

I’m wondering if I read this wrong from you but I’m just clarifying: the site does take 15% off of every single cuddle.

  • edited December 2023

@Sheena123 I think @cocoabomb might be referring to the extras. Like if I'm traveling I ask for gas to be covered. It's not part of my hourly rate so that extra money for gas won't be included in what the site charges me for the booking.
Ex: I have a 2 hour session @$75/hr. I quote my cuddler $50 for gas. The site is only taking 15% of $150 not $200

  • @hey_nikky ok! That makes sense lol

  • OP is banned. Go figure.

It’s all about what the needs are. In my situation I prefer Guest but will be flexible and be the Host when no other option is available.
When Guest I do my best to inform my client on not spending on a hotel-but if they do, it is chosen by them (they can select a price they are comfortable with). I only ask for a safe location in the event I need to flee the scene lol. My need for safety is more important than the fees exchanged for sessions. I am practical, simple and very flexible to the needs of my clients. We are all adults here, we understand that many people have the need to be cuddled and given attention especially if they have suffered from the lack of it in a previous relationship! I offer conversation, comfort, my time where I focus just on them (yes I put my cell phone on silent and in my purse). I do have responsibilities at home that I must manage between my cuddle sessions and I make that clear in my profile. Traveling is also an option-again nothing more than gas fee depending on mileage, and the octane price for my vehicle. So in reality we do what we need to do to stay healthy, happy and joyful humans. This allows both the client to move about his/her life with more positivity towards their loved ones. And the cuddler to feel like they not only helped another human for the betterment of mankind but also in supporting their family obligations at home.

I have no idea what happened to the OP, but I have observed a repeating pattern on this forum.

    Somebody (usually new to the forum) posts a not entirely justified complaint or rant about something;
    that or their subsequent posts carry a whiff (or full-blown stench) of entitlement;
    the truth is that the poster is actually annoyed at having their sense of entitlement offended because they were turned down by a professional for an unreasonable or non-platonic request;
mods take the time to do their investigation of the professional's Report properly, and then the poster is banned.

  • I was just gonna make the same observation @CuddleDuncan LOL

Recently, the peeps making new posts get banned within hours of the post. Not even sure how long they've even been on the site, since I can't see once there banned. And the entitlement their posts ooze with is icky too....not the types of things that will convince another human to want to cuddle them.

Maybe....just maybe people should take their time to read all the helpful information that others have put time and effort into writing, so that these very things can be avoided 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ So they can understand this site before they get to this point.

  • @hey_nikky i was gonna say you make sense but someone beat me to it 🤣. Are you back home or still on the road ?

  • edited December 2023

@Sooson 🤣🤣 I just made it home from Louisiana a little while ago. But you know it won't be long before I'm driving somewhere else 😝
I think I spend more time in my car than I do at home lately lol

  • “a Kohl's pricing strategy“ 😂

  • @Erin_Elle_ - "You saved $120 today."

    No I didn't. I spent $80.

  • Hugging is such a complicated mess these days.

  • I’ve noticed people quit when they are directed to the stickied topics at the top of the forum. Who’s with me?

Paying pro cuddlers hosting fees.. paying their traveling costs.. paying for their gas.. etc.. you know it's just a hidden excuse to get you to cover their 15% fee that gets charged to their card, or else they would increase their hourly rate instead to help cover those said expenses. This kind of greed is why I like cuddling enthusiasts.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

So i usually pay the cuddling fee
    Service charge
    Order charge
    Convenience charge
    Inconvenience charge
    Pro charge (because they can)
And an extra charge for being me

  • @hey_nikky. Jan 13-14 is Wild Card weekend :) . Better keep up with your oil changes.

  • Asking for extra compensation to help cover gas when I'm asked to travel (which is most of my sessions) definitely isn't covering my 15% fee to CC because its literally only covering my gas 🙈 and I don't charge a travel fee so we're not even talking the wear and tear on my car

  • edited December 2023

@Sooson you got it 😁😁 I'll let the cat sitter know. She permanently has a key now 🤣🤣 also scheduling oil change now 💀

  • Yep @TxTom I say we get rid of this hugging nonsense. It's always causing problems in the forums anyways. And it's a gateway behavior that leads to cuddling 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • I’m a long time member of this site. I used to cuddle with pros far more often but as time has gone, the prices have increased fairly dramatically but inflation has gone up quite a bit as well so I get it to a certain degree. All of the added fees though at times can be ridiculous. Personally I don’t care if a pro is adding fees so that they can cover their 15%, that’s up to the site to deal with. When I first joined cc, everyone charged the same rate and there were no added fees and I cuddled with pros far more often. Now the only time I cuddle is if I’m out of town or receive a nice bonus at work. When I do cuddle, I look for multi hour discounts to try and make it worthwhile. I still enjoy cuddling with pros, I just feel at times that it’s like monkey see monkey do, one pro charges some silly fee and then next do the same until everyone is doing it. New clients think it’s the norm and pay it, then what used to cost me $160 total for 2 hours now costs $300 with an increased rate and fees. Pros will bring up things such as their gas money, wear and tear on their car, Uber fees, it’s not our fault as clients that you can’t host. Anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @lonelytauros I think I get that extra charge for being me as well. Now I understand why my parents tied a steak around me to get the dogs to play with me when I was a kid. 🥹

Maybe, just maybe if people came on here and focused on being the type of person someone would want to cuddle, and not someone that just complains about rates and fees they would find out pros probably wouldn’t be hitting them with so many surcharges.

  • If someone is going to drive and hour or more give them a dollar amount we agree upon and covers their gas and time. That’s more than fair.
Other than that I’ve never encountered someone wanting above and beyond that.
