@Joe82_ - I love the POTA movies. I thought the new ones were very well done explaining how they became so smart. I knew there were some criticisms of “Collapse” and dispute over some of Dr. Diamonds conclusions. I am not an expert in that area but I found his work very thought provoking although some of his evidence seemed “thin” for some of the conclusions he drew. Same thing with GG&S which I also enjoyed.
@AllAboutSoul - I LOVED Demolition Man! What a perfect cast for an action comedy. Rob Schneider and Sandra Bullock were perfect balance to Stallone and Snipes. I was working for General Motors in the late 1980s and I knew a Hollywood movie company had asked to borrow every futuristic concept car GM had on hand to put in a movie. We were told the movie was called Demolition Man and it was set in the future but that was all we were told. I saw the movie opening weekend when it was released in 1993 (30 years ago… how is that possible?) and it instantly became one of my favorites.
@WestsideMarc - How could I forget the numerous dystopian Black Mirror episodes? My 2 favorite episodes are “Nose Dive” about an inescapable social credit system and “Arch Angel” about surveillance and censorship at a truly unprecedented, personal level - a truly tragic story.

@jplemmon @SunsetSnuggles Yes, that is exactly what I was getting at - which is the “least bad” from your perspective.
I personally chose Mad Max but in hindsight a good zombie scenario (like World War Z) may be even “better”.
In the Matrix movies docile, compliant people are not tortured, they are allowed to live in an artificial world akin to virtual reality as long as they don’t make trouble. In Logan’s Run, people live in a near utopia until they turn 30 and a crystal embedded in their hand turns red, at which time they are killed.
While life is primitive, brutal and short for most people in the Mad Max and zombie movies, there is a very clear and tangible “enemy” who can be fought. In dystopias like 1984 and Hunger Games, the enemy is much more abstract. There are authority figures who represent the enemy but the real enemy is more of a collective system than a person.
Can we pick video games? The Fallout game series has you emerge from a bunker after years of radioactivity. It's a pretty brutal world, but the intra-politics of newly built societies in this world really intrigue me. Might be a fun study until I get destroyed by a mutant radscorpion!

@CuddleHugs01234 agreed and the most creepy part is it’s becoming reality with all of our personal information and identity practically becoming public knowledge. Just imagine everything that you see on social media is catered to your preferences in one way or another
@lonelytauros Just seeing this. It pretty much already is. Another person and I were discussing a topic recently at my home, and next thing you know, that specific topic was populating in my feeds. Or even in messaging, a topic or discussion of something, and feeds start coming up.
@lonelytauros @CuddleHugs01234 I am guessing you are running Android instead of iOS if things you text about are showing up in your feeds. Apple gives a better (but still far from perfect) level of privacy. Of course that can be negated by the apps you install (FB, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and the permissions you grant those apps.
I agree with @MonkeyNeedsAHug on Brave New World. I wouldn't mind living in the dystopia of the Black Mirror episode 15 Million Merits, except for the apparent total absence of cuddling. Out of the options in the original poll I'd take Mad Max I guess. At least it's a world with cool vehicles.
