Pics of other people of profile

I am always astounded to see that some people include pictures of other people on their profiles.

If this person has asked β€œhey can I include you in a picture on my profile on a cuddling website?” And person has said yes. Fair enough.

It is a massive red flag 🚩 to me .. either carelessness or thoughtlessness or lack of respect and lack of consent

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who understands what im saying and also anyone who disagrees with the principle I am speaking about (consent).

Happy cuddling everyone!

  • I know of some Pros who do "double cuddles" together, and they'll have pics of each other on each of their respective profiles.

  • Hello, I do think it’s a potential sign of carelessness, but as you mentioned, the person may have got permission from the other person.

I think it would be nice if the other person’s face is blurred. It also becomes hard to figure out who is actually the owner of that profile if they only have group photos.

  • Yes it’ can be confusing .. sometimes I look at a pic and I’m wondering .. well which one are you?!? πŸ˜‚

  • I think in the age of social media, most people do not consider asking others permission to post for each site....but they should. Consent is key, after all.

But also, we have no idea of who has asked for permission or not and it is impossible to tell from a picture unless people put in the caption "shared with permission" or similar. Some people have started to do this automatically, or to put stickers over the faces of others if they haven't gotten permission. Hopefully as the much more savvy Gen Z gets more present in these spaces it'll become a regular practice.

  • @CiaraBlue Good morning!! (Or I suppose it is good afternoon to you over there in London. 😊) Welcome to the site and thank you for being a PROFESSIONAL!! From an enthusiast and in a very heartfelt way.... thank you.

I JUST has a reaction to this for the first time on the site. Its a funny coincidence that you should start such a thought provoking thread.

It has never given me a red flag/bothered me in the adult sense.... i.e. when a woman posts pictures of herself individually and then a group thing or a picture with her bestie at a beautiful lake scene etc. I think the reason I don't feel like its an issue is because it is HER responsibility to have consent from the person and if I am getting to know this individual then I will be able to have more clarity around her boundaries and consent through messaging easier than I would from guessing. I suppose you could say that I wouldn't be swayed one way or the other...

    BUT

I was just scrolling through a few profiles and there was a man who had posted pictures of his children individually. NOT a picture of him WITH his children, but pics of the children opening birthday presents etc.

I agree with @cuddlefaery that we like in an InstaGram/Facebook social media world where this kind of thing is incredi ly common, but I was REALLY taken aback. I think it hints at EXACTLY what you were trying to describe of someone who is very unaware of the dynamic of consent and that is worrisome. It doesn't mean they aren't coachable or lets go ahead and use the word clueless, but it doesn't make them a bad person.

I do think it is challenging to remember that most people aren't as aware of this as we are.

I was just at a group MeetUp with some people and at the end I asked if everyone was ok to take a picture and I ALSO asked if everyone was okay if I posted it on the group MeetUp event and said clearly "CONSENT IS KEY" and a few people laughed but mostly everyone said wholeheartedly "I COMPLETELY AGREE."

One beautiful aspect of you being a professional is that hopefully you will be able to spread the word that consent isn't just about touching.... ITS ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!

  • This is an interesting topic and a good one to discuss.
While I do have others in my pictures I have always asked consent prior to posting or having them on my profile. Currently my pictures which have others in them are private for only friends to see. I think respect, consent and thoughtful consideration are always appreciated in this type of situation.

  • A picture is worth a thousand words and/or judgments at times but always ask in the time and age for permissions and consent.

Many that judge on a group/online/ pic, do not ask the profile owner specifically are just stressing for no real valid reason. There should not need to be a disclaimer on each picture online, but we could possibly be getting there.

That is my take on the flip side of processing a red flag online when you have not communicated directly and are only judging based on a photo that is featured on a profile but may or may not feature any vulnerability yourselves on your own profile.

It only creeps me out online if a person posts a picture of a child or people in the background and do not blur them out as they are strangers in a public group setting and did not give permission to be posted in that light......... Especially ones that feature women and children in public and that is a huge red flag to me.

Great post @CiaraBlue . It is refreshing to get those thinking clearly about their online pic presence and consent on this site. I also have a disclaimer that all of my pics on here are my property, and no one has my consent to post anywhere online or private dark web sites. *Only CC use for advertising promo purposes which does not constitute ownership of our pics.

  • In this age of facial recognition, it should absolutely be something that is only done with permission, though I can't imagine why anyone would want to.

I agree with those above who are worried when kids are included. Best to stick with solo shots and pictures of yourself with animals. πŸ˜‹

For anyone who may have wondered; yes, that's my boyfriend in my second picture and yes, I definitely asked his permission before uploading that shot, even though I never include faces. Still his body, still his right to say no. 😊

  • I'd hope to never unknowingly be in anyone's profile picture.

  • @BashfulLoner Sidebar: Think of all the amusement/theme parks or a tourist areas you've visited, and imagine the thousands of photos you appear in the background of.
