@CuddleYou89 I've always wanted to visit New York. I have some family who lives there but they have always traveled out here to visit with me. It would be nice to visit them in New York one of these days.
@TomLaJolla I'm jealous that you live close to the ocean. :P I have visited California many times over the years (I lived there for a while too). But right now I am landlocked in the middle of the desert. :')
@MoonlightSonata I've been very fortunate to be near the Pacific and close to deserts. Arizona has beautiful places to explore, and deserts are nice in spring.
@TomLaJolla I actually really like Arizona too. It is just a different outdoor experience than living by the beach.
I’m from a small town near Fredericksburg, Va. It’s so small it’s been at most a decade since the county got a Walmart, and even that’s away from the town proper.
@BrianL Are there a lot of outdoors activities to do? I grew up in Flagstaff which was also a small town but there was a lot of stuff to do like climbing up Mount Elden, hiking the trails around the San Francisco Peaks, visiting The Grand Canyon, and so on.
I'm currently in Kansas City, Missouri, but spend half of my week with my boyfriend in Overland Park, Kansas. I was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, and recently closed an 8 year chapter in the Oklahoma City area. Did college in Upland, Indiana, and Ireland.
@MoonlightSonata Not really. Just kinda a small, sleepy town. At least it’s not too far to Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania. Plus, I’ve always been more into books than physical activity.
Though I did visit Flagstaff what seems like ages ago, part of a trip with a group to visit the Havasu.
@Thellie What is it like in Missouri? That is a place I have never visited and I've always wondered what it is like to live out there.
@MoonlightSonata Missouri is much like the rest of the Midwest. It has felt like home for years, so i made it so for now. I've got quite a few friends here, including one i live with, and so long as you got good people around, everything will always be okay.

It's neat that you visited both Flagstaff and Lake Havasu. I grew up in Flagstaff and visited Lake Havasu quite a lot since my grandparents had a winter home there (they would go up to their home in Bear Lake, Idaho during the summer).
@Thellie I am glad to hear that you have a strong friend network. That's always a good thing.
@MoonlightSonata I took a lot of pictures heading down into the canyon, I especially remember Havasu Falls. The Havasu people were welcoming and friendly. The trip I was on was during their Annual Peach Festival. I think we were in Flagstaff the first week, I remember it being nice from what I saw.
@BrianL I'm glad that you were able to come out west. There are a lot of things to do outdoors in Arizona. Lots of beautiful mountains, canyons, rivers, lakes, and other stuff to experience out in nature. I have never been to the peach festival but it sounds really awesome! I'll have to look it up.
@MoonlightSonata If I remember right, it’s in September. One day I hope to move out further west than I am now. After all my visits to family in Texas, the state has grown on me.
@BrianL I have actually visited Texas and many other southern States with friends in the past. I loved Texas! The people were really friendly and the food was great.
@MoonlightSonata I'm not big on food, but the food is one of the best parts of visiting Texas for me. Texas Brisket, mmmm. I've not really met anyone outside of family while down there, but if I get down there to stay, I'm sure I will.
@BrianL I love the fried foods too like fried okra, fried catfish, and etc. Texan food is great.
@MoonlightSonata When I go down there, I mostly have the BBQ and Tex-Mex. Just glad that we got a Texas BBQ place up here, called Dickey's. Not the best Texas BBQ, but still better than VA BBQ.
@BrianL The Tex-Mex and BBQ are great as well. I miss eating those big old steaks I got at a few local places. They were served with homemade sauce too which made them extra good.
@MoonlightSonata For the BBQ, I'll be honest, I mostly stick to the brisket and sausage, with a load of pickles to help with the spicyness.

I'm originally from Trinidad but have resided in South Florida for the past 8 years. The furthest I've traveled for a session so far is 40 minutes.

@MoonlightSonata Trinidad is a nice country, the food is amazing and the people are friendly ! The beaches are pretty good as well. The main cons is the high crime rate and the prices of stuff lol. If you have the chance to visit, I would definitely recommend it !
