I have worked in realm of data analytics for nearly 2 decades with an emphasis on supply chain management for the past 5 years or so. Without getting into the boring and potentially controversial reasons why, I think it is a good idea for everyone to be prepared for a certain level of supply chain disruptions later this year.
In 2019, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) used the metaphor of a zombie apocalypse to encourage people to make common sense preparations for any emergency such as having flashlights, candles, matches, some food, battery powered radio and other items assembled in the event of an emergency (power outage, severe weather, fire, flood, civil unrest, etc.).
I would encourage everyone to spend a few minutes at ready.gov to read through FEMA recommendations for general preparedness and make your own decisions about whatever precautions make sense for you personally.
