I use the term "female" in my profile and when I'm talking to females. I don't have any difficulty finding females to cuddle with. Usage here is probably a cultural thing. Ninety percent of my closer friends are female. I spent yesterday evening with two females at a magical cove on Lake Mead. I built a fire after we watched the sunset and skinny-dipped. We talked for hours, danced around the fire, drummed, and did a guided meditation. They had no issues with the term female. Neither did the owl who visited us. . Males and females can make magic together. Love.
@JohnfromVienna it's not just a CuddleComfort thing. If you have friends you know are ok with being referred to as "females", great, you can refer to those specific people that way. But in general, the proper term for female humans is "women", it's more universal, and less likely to get you red flagged. Insisting on digging your heels in over the term after multiple women have mentioned not liking being referred to that way makes you sound inconsiderate and like a boundary crosser.

Some people named Peter are ok being called Pete, and some are not. It doesn't take much effort to call people what they ask to be called.
Well how did i miss the memo? I guess ‘female’ is a bad word now?? Life is short and no one I know in real life worries about that word so I’ll google this trend. Meanwhile it’s ok for (I think) only me on this site. I’m just asking for clarity. Generational thing which i will respect. I don’t mind being called chick either because when I was in 20’s-30s it was cute and flirty. Again I am learning constantly from the Forum. There are definitely words i would never expect to be called, so ok.
@carrieanne One of many words LOL. Anyways, I generally agree that Woman is a nicer and more respectful word to use and agree with the reasons. However, since recently the rules have been blurred regarding what /who is a man and who/who is a woman, some may feel the need to use the word Female in order to make it clear what/who they are looking for to hang with, to cuddle with or whatever. and when they do so they get attacked by the very same people who are responsible for the blurring of the rules. but what else is new

I’m another one of those crazy women that doesn’t like to be called female… it’s degrading and basically devolves me and makes me feel like I’m just a walking reproductive system… I’m a woman…. Same with people always saying “female doctors” “female athletes”. We’re always reduced to “female” and we’re allowed to say we have a problem with it. There are plenty who don’t mind and that’s ok but almost every man I’ve come across that says “female” has treated me like I’m just a piece of meat or that I don’t matter.

For me , it's about who says it and what they mean behind it. In recent years, it's a keyword used by women haters and misogynists. When I see female...other words that are soon to follow: simp, white knight , alpha, sigma, submissive, obedient, etc.
To each their own, I suppose.
I choose not to give others the power to offend me.
I don't mind being referred to as a male at all.
I guess I have a more optimistic view of people and don't assume the worst about them--unless and until that individual proves themselves to be something other than that.
I don't stereotype, but that's just me.
I don't have a dog in the fight because I'm a guy and don't have personal feelings around being called a female vs not being called a female . Never been called one before . So if It is voiced by enough women that it is a preference to not be referred to as one , then thats enough reason for me to not do it . Easy enough . I have no reason to argue about it . It's just not a hill that I feel I need to die on because it's not really my hill to begin with .

I grew up hearing male doctors (which were much more the norm than female doctors) refer to women with health problems they didn't understand or care to treat as "crazy women." Feminists are still often called "crazy women."
Female may be more clinical, but many of us believe that "crazy" before woman/women is derogatory.

@jplemmon Yea, as I said earlier, I feel like when I’m just called “female, it literally makes me feel like I’m on the discovery channel and a guy is just saying, “here comes the female, with her fancy coffee” n a David Attenborough voice. I just feel icky, like I’m only seen as a walking baby making machine.
Many people find the terms "female" or "male" to be dehumanizing, due to the fact that those terms can be equally and accurately used to describe any animal.
If you don't wanna be referred to in any particular way, cool. Doesn't matter to me why you don't want to, you don't have to justify it. I'll try to be respectful of your feelings.
