When I look at my visitors page I find that people all over the country are looking and sometimes people in other countries. How does this happen?
If you post in the forums they might see you there, also on the front page, it says who is on right now/recently and who new members are. So if you appear in one of those, they might see you and click.
@cr1428 - Probably because they have set their search parameters to find people in your area. Sometimes they are just curious to see who is out there in the big wide world of cuddling (I am guilty of that!). Many people on here travel a lot, and like to see who lives in and around cities/towns they will be visiting in the future.
In the Search function on the Cuddlers page you will see that there is an option to either search a location Near Home or Somewhere Else. I imagine this is how they have found you.
I live in Northeast Illinois and have some serious thoughts about relocating or finding a cold season home elsewhere in the country. On a site like this, I will go to an area where I'm searching for homes just to see how many users are in that area. I've made a broad assumption that in communities where there are a lot of cuddlers (and other types at other sites I visit) is likely to be a nice place to live. In terms of finding friends, at least by email, I get more response from those far away than from those nearby, but that's an aside. And yes@amhunt when I see an interesting Forum post, it makes sense for me to go read the author's profile.
Before being a Mod I'd look at peoples profiles around areas I was looking at traveling to or if they said something in the forums I agreed with and enjoyed talking with I'd send them a friend request. As a Mod, while I still do that or are sometimes curious seeing someone new pop up on the main page and I want to say hi, looking at profiles is part of the job of a Mod ^_^ A couple times new members profiles will show a city name of somewhere close to me while on the main page, but when I go to view their page that city is in another state or country LOL
Also, there are people like me who sometimes get click happy and may click on a profile unintentionally when navigating the site.
They are doing it because you look good in your profile photo They might also be intrigued by your @cr1438 user name.
I get a considerably greater amount of visitors to my page from far away and from other countries than local people. I assume it's because of a forum post I made that they may have liked and they're curious about me. Sometimes they'll message me to say so, and that's always nice. Sometimes it turns into correspondence and a long distance friendship. And sometimes those long distance friendships turn into cuddles! I've had people from really far away come to my town to cuddle me, and I've gone several states away to cuddle some. These were all guys I'd been in touch with for several months. You just never know what might happen from a long distance beginning!
Yup, what blueiris said about people being curious about you from a forum post. I've clicked on a large number of people on this forum because of something they've written. I get people not in my area visiting my profile as well, the last one was just five hours ago and they don't even live in the same country.
Nobody knows where you're from until they click on your name on your forum posts. If you never post in the forums, then I couldn't tell you.
I had a disturbing encounter recently. Someone from far way is NY for business trip. He reached out stating that he's not looking to cuddle but just wanted to chat and connect. So we were chatting for a few hours and he seemed like a cool person. The next day he asked if we could meet up in person. I thought the sensible thing to do is to exchange pictures in order to identify each other. He refused to show how he looks like and that was the end of it.
if you are new, people may see your photo on the front page. If you happen to be good looking they may just be interested in that. Forum posts also encourage views as others have said.
I travel so I am always checking out profiles from different locations looking for potential cuddle partners. If I like somebody in particular then I’ll add that person to my favorites so I don’t forget. I’ll be visiting three different states in May so I’ll also be changing my location accordingly and hopefully I’ll make some new connections. With respect to pictures since we’re now able to send them along with a private message I usually send my pic after I get a response even if I haven’t been asked for one.
I travel also so it is mainly an interest in seeing who is available in a particular city. Sometimes I will just see a post from someone and am just curious about them.
As long as they're willing to travel the distance, I'll consider having a cuddle with them. No guarantee, of course. It depends on the person.
The new user photos on the home page show a city name, but not state or country. Sometimes I’ll recognize a town that is very near me and click the photo to see the profile. But more often than not, it is a same-name City in another state.
A lot of people visiting my profile are not from my area as well, and I think it is nice to make friends with them. You never know where Cuddling might take you and if I am ever in their area at least, I know I have someone to hang out and cuddle with.
