Was browsing some profiles of non-pros and saw that many don’t have anything listed in the “About me” section. How’s everyone’s experience with these types of profiles? Stay away?
Depends on how new they are. Give people some time to fill out their profile. If they’ve been here a while and were recently active and it’s still blank, that’s kind of a 🚩for me that they either don’t know how to communicate or are possibly here for the wrong reasons and are being intentionally elusive, and I typically don’t engage unless they message me first.
Well, first thing I look at is their latest activity date - a lot of people sign up, take a look around, and then never come back. If the profile is blank and they haven't been active in months/years, it's likely they just aren't going to respond.
If it's a new profile that just signed up this month, they may just not be investing much time in their profile yet until they get a feel for the site.
Then there's those who like their privacy and so don't want to put much on a profile for something as "out there" as cuddling.
Then there's people who just don't fill out profiles, ever, on any site or app because they do not value that aspect of it. Most people would say that's being "lazy", but I don't believe true laziness exists, but rather it's a sign of something else like a lack of motivation.
And finally, there's some who do not fill out their profile because they're trying to be covert, either to scam people, sneak past mods, or avoid being recognized by spouses/etc.
Basically, the only way you can know why a profile is blank is to ask them - and then, if you even get an answer, you have to decide how well you trust that answer.🤷🏻♀️
If you do happen to get a response from an enthusiast with a blank profile, I would take it as a good omen and go buy a lottery ticket.

Welcome to the site, @RochNRoll!
@cuddlefaery has a lot of excellent points.
If someone is new, I give them a hall pass.
If they've been here awhile, I literally pass over them, as the About Me section of the profile is much more important to me than pictures or simple Facts.
If someone with a blank profile messages me, I'll happily message back, as personal interaction trumps anything one writes about themselves.
At the end of the day, everyone has different priorities. For me, how people interact with me, and behave on the message board over time, are of the highest import. For others, pictures are the most important. For others, part of the Facts like if someone is a smoker or has pets, makes or breaks it.

To me, the "About Me" is the answer to "What makes you interesting enough that I would want to talk to you?" If it's blank, you're obviously not interesting. If you're hoping your picture alone is sufficient (assuming you even have one), then it seems like you consider cuddling a purely physical thing, which is not what I want.
@Unscented_Lemon You said it! Love your boldness.
I first read the title as incompetent profiles lol. That would be a thread of great relevance too .
@pmvines 🤣🤣🤣
@pmvines
I'm always curious about the blank or almost-blank pro or enthusiast profiles that have karma.
@starrynitecuds mine is blank and I have karma 🤣
@starrynitecuds I generally figure those Karmas come from Pro's.
@Morpheus Was yours always blank?
@Morpheus You don’t seem like the Blank Profile type at all!
@SunsetSnuggles
Was yours always blank?
I had a long profile at one point but apparently I said something in it that flagged me as non platonic so I deleted it. I’ve had other profiles here and there but I end up deleting them because I feel they don’t live up to my profile that I had to delete 🤣
I mentioned this in a different thread once, but mine was blank for about the first 2 years i was here. This was in large part due to being part perfectionist, part incredibly busy, and part incredibly lazy, among other things; so i just never put in the effort to write anything.
Luckily for me, the first few people i setup sessions with didnt hold that against me at all, and i was able to have a few awesome sessions, while having no Karma and basically no profile.
Now, i do actually have a decent About Me that im somewhat satisfied with, at least to the point where it doesnt bother me to the point of wanting to take it down or spend a bunch of time revamping it.
Nope. I message them anyway. I just send a polite intro and talk about myself. Half the time I get a decent response or even a cuddle. You just never know. Some folks are hesitant or a bit non-committal. Never hurts to reach out to a no picture having, no summary person. lol
@Minestrone101 i do the same but half the time I get a restraining order 🤷🏻♂️😂
@lonelytauros no reward without risk. lol. sometimes it's a death wish. lol
It can be quite difficult to fill out the 'about me' section especially if one isn't very good at writing. I've just filled out mine and it took me a good few hours to get it just right. I'm wondering if profiles should be viewed as a work in progress, so that if it is blank it could be in a state of transition. I'm constantly fiddling around with mine. It may never be perfect.
@Morpheus 1. You have a photo. Plus: 2. You're a reg on the forums here. 3. You probably accumulated karma when you had a written profile bio, which would encourage others to leave it now.
@zerolight40 You've done a fabulous and hilarious job writing your profile! And yes, it certainly takes time, and editing. I still tweak and add to mine, two years later.
You posted: "I'm wondering if profiles should be viewed as a work in progress, so that if it is blank it could be in a state of transition."
If someone has been here a short time, absolutely. Many join just to kick tires which is totally understandable.
But sometimes you run across people who have been here for a year or several, who are active, with blank profiles. Personally, I'm turned off by those.
A simple solution to that, which some of our regulars here do, is add a little note like this in their empty profile, if they're re-doing it, so people know it's in transition, as you say:
🚧 Under Construction 🚧
@SunsetSnuggles Thank you so much! You're profile is incredible by the way... I see you like writing too. I do agree though, after some time, something has to appear on the 'about me' section, even if it's one paragraph. The 'Under Construction' thing is a great idea!
@zerolight40 Aw, thank you! 😊 I've added a lot to it, over time. I do like writing, yes. I'm assume that the vast majority here will never bother to read my profile, and that's perfectly okay - it's there for those who like to drill down deep. It's also much easier to reference an existing section of my profile, than to re-explain something many times.
I'll be in London this fall; if you'd care to get to know each other, perhaps we could meet up! 🇬🇧 Either way, welcome to the site and I hope you have lovely experiences, here!
As a non pro, I had my profile filled out in length with pictures before and was overwhelmed by the flood of messages and most of them unsavory in nature from the creeps on here.
I like it bare now as part of my screening. Those who are genuinely here for the right reasons will act accordingly.
It's a huge mental relief for me, and I have since found a few gem of platonic cuddlers I trust.
