Credit card information

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion. I recently contacted a professional cuddler, who told me that in order to book a session I had to provide her with my credit card information in advance. While I understand that people want to feel safe and minimize any risk (financial or other), asking for this seemed unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable, perhaps because I've been victim of fraud before. I've met with other professional cuddlers before and have never been asked for CC info. I obviously didn't go ahead with booking.
So, what ya'll think? am I crazy in not trusting a professional cuddler with my financial info?

    Absolutely not! There are several options in which you can pay in advance online securely without having to give your credit card info directly to the professional! I would steer clear of this one.

    Yea, no. There’s PayPal, Venmo, cash, meeting beforehand and getting payment. So many much better options!!

    Agree with @lilredmage and @amhunt. Some pro cuddlers have a policy of requiring a deposit beforehand in order to discourage no shows after making a booking. That should be clearly stated and the amount of the deposit stated. Just asking carte blanche for credit card information, I find suspect.

    Sounds like someone who should be banned. It’s as @lilredmage and @amhunt said: there are plenty of ways to submit an electronic payment beforehand. Did you report this pro?

    Anyone asking for money before you can verify they are who they say they are. I.e. met them in person is someone to be very cautious of. Mark clearly states that the pros are not baclground checked etc.

    @cranefritz If the pro seems like they are doing some shady stuff, I would recommend perhaps reporting their profile so Mark can review the messages and decide whether or not the pro should be given a warning or banned.

    It could be that they are kind of new to the site system and aren't aware of how to properly request payment types.

    If that is the case, hopefully they can be given a warning and reminded of the proper ways to request payments from a site admin.

    However, if they've been here a while and are asking for shady things like this, chances are that they are probably up to no good. It's up to the site admins to determine what to do with the profile in any case.

    As everyone else has said, no, uh-uh, and absolutely not.

    She wants your credit card info, and you have no way of even knowing if she is a real person. That smiling young woman in the profile pic could be an avatar for a for a man in a Nigerian internet cafe.

    I like to play it safe. No advance payments to strangers online. Period. Meanwhile, please tell us you reported this person.

    Thanks everyone. Seems like I did the right thing by not providing the information she requested. I guess I'll follow your advise and let the administrators know.
