“Searching locations too fast”

I am planning a cross country trip in June and I’ve been checking out the cuddle scene in places I am going. Now, I am no longer able to search any locations other than my home-base. When I try to enter another location, I get the error message “you are searching locations too fast”. I logged off and waited a while, but still get that message.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Or, how long do I have to wait until I can search again?

    It’s never happened to me. I remember hearing that it happened to someone else. I thought it was something that happened to newer members but you’ve been here awhile so that the sort is out of the door.

    Perhaps someone is now taking steps to make gathering site data more difficult?

    It's possible it is triggering as a spam deflecting function .

    I mean. I get it is frustrating in your pretty uncommon exception-but I am very happy that this type of security exists for many reasons

    @natickben I don’t disagree. But, I just need to know how to correct it. It’s been 6 hours since I was last able to search, so I think it’s going to require action from an admin to restore my searching capabilities.

    It would also be nice to know exactly how I triggered this so I can avoid it in the future.

    @natickben What useful security purpose does this serve? It looks to me like a software bug. It's never happened to me, however my searches have been in Michigan and occasionally Ohio.

    Just an update on my predicament - I not only can’t search areas other than my home base, but I also can’t change my home base and search that way.

    So, apparently I have triggered some kind of restriction of searching outside my area. I am locked out of the search function.

    If this is a feature of the website security, surely I’m not the first one to trigger it. I know lots of pros travel to cuddle.

    Has this happened to anyone else?

    This makes it harder to scrape the site. It also limits dudes who are just looking for women to hit on as fast as they can

    @warm_embrace Sorry you encountered this. Search throttling is something we are discussing internally with the aim of reducing impact on legitimate use. Your case has been added as a key reference point.

    I don't think it's practical to override a block on an individual basis. I'm afraid in your case it sounds like it triggered the harsher block of 24 hours (not your fault).
