Healing the lonely

I chose to be a cuddle pro because I want a forum to be healed and cuddle in a safe space (where nothing is expected) just as much as I want to bring cuddle therapy to others and help them heal. I am not interested in sacrificing my peace for a failed relationship, don't have it in me. I have been single for 6 years and I'm hoping that this process of trying to help others will result in my personal growth and maybe I will learn to trust again.

Hope all of you cuddlebugs are having a great Sunday... I just needed a little Sunday confessional. :)

What are your cuddle goals?

  • Whew, that hits close to home for me.
I've had similar goals for a while now, emotional healing.
I want to have positive healthy relationships with people, people that will pick me up when I'm down, and vice versa.
In the past it's always devolved into codependence, which sucks, but feels good when you're with them, but that almost ended my life 👀
I've moved past that, but still deeply desire a connection like that, but healthy.

  • @Specialist_Log <3 Healthy is the key word. I feel like boundaries are the catalyst for healthy relationships. I am focused on my boundaries. If you can master your boundaries, the world is yours.

  • @Bripic it certainly can. I have watched cuddle professionals travel the road you are on, and arrive in happy, healthy relationships.

I'm a client and although I'm still single, I have a number of happy, healthy platonic relationships that can be firmly attributed to cuddling, both directly and indirectly. I no longer live alone, and cuddling was a hugely important part of that coming about. Only five minutes ago somebody I met in the cuddling world and with whom I have a strong platonic connection said, "Ok I can’t wait to see u". So it really does happen.

  • Same for me. I can't do the relationship thing again yet. Boundaries are hard for me too. I kept attracting narcissists, over and over. So I stopped. I've gone on 2 dates in the last 5 years.

  • I've spent most of my life alone, due to lack of friends or just being happier by myself, after 8 years of loneliness due to a crap relationship, it was easy to just stay alone. Sadly the longer you stay lonely, the harder it can be to leave that comfort zone. My thoughts were why risk being hurt again when I'm doing fine on my own. Yeah I miss cooking for a girl, an doing all that cute crap. A lot of therapy over the years has help me realize things an recently I learned about touch starvation an my therapist recommended cuddle therapy. I'm a big teddy bear I love to hug and cuddle, so to learn that you can do that without the risk of being hurt again, seems like a good way to heal some stuff and move forward.
The world would be a better place if everyone cuddled at least one time every day :)
So hopefully one day I too can be a cuddle professional. We all need a cuddle.

My last date was 2013. I made the choice to focus on raising my daughter and was very leery of bringing someone new into her life who might just walk away.

  • Honestly? I'm looking for cuddle friendship.
I'm incredibly isolated, extremely socially limited due to my chronic illnesses, and more lonely and touch starved than I like to admit.
So what I really need is a good cuddle, friendship and a real connection that doesn't mind seeing me in my pajamas. 😂
It's tough to make new irl friends when the place I'm most often found is stuck in bed, and sadly, I left all my previous friends when I moved out here, so I'm pretty much starting over.

Plus, a site with the word "platonic" plastered across the front page gives me some hope that I might actually be seen as a human being instead a sex object. 😅
I can hide it with the best of 'em when I have to, but unfortunately years of sexual trauma haven't made things any easier in life, so finding a safe, healthy way to be physically close with people without that side of things would be so incredibly healing for me.

  • I am just overly excited for my first cuddle session I've always felt the need to want to give and I find pleasure in giving pleasure. Just to know that I have contributed to helping someone mentally emotionally physically spiritually whatever the test might be as long as I help that's all that matters to me and that makes me happy. My goal is to just spread love and kindness and just let everyone feel loved and cared for

  • This is why I'm surprised this seems to be such a small niche market, and on top of that, seemingly has a completely illogical stigma attached to it.

  • My first year on this site I was exclusively booking with pros and working through a lot of bottled up emotional pain. My second year I was still booking pros now and then but I started having some cuddles with enthusiasts. As I approach my 3rd anniversary on this site, this past year has mainly been lots of cuddles and non-cuddle (but still platonic) adventures with an enthusiast I met last summer.

We are not dating (neither of us were looking for that) but we do spend a good bit of time together and enjoy one another’s company with no expectations imposed on each other.

I feel like I have met my goal of finding a true cuddle friend. I may create a thread sometime elaborating on my cuddle journey because I seem to have succeeded where many men on this site have given up.

  • Thank you to all for sharing your thoughts, journey, experiences. I felt like you were all writing about me. Through therapy I am learning more about my process. If I may ask, as a sexually less experienced and deprived as well as touch deprived, I find I am conflicted in cuddling and the intimacy which is a wonderful feeling but I leave the session a bit sexually frustrated.
How would you handle this situation?

@Kegman A cuddle session is not going to ease your sexual frustration. If you're looking for it to do so, you're looking for more than this site offers.

  • @Kegman try thinking of the person you're cuddling with as a baby you're holding, or a relative. Or cuddle with people you aren't attracted to.

  • @Kegman Finding someone somewhere else who will help you with those natural urges will help you to focus on keeping your platonic cuddling platonic.

  • @Bripic I chose to be a professional cuddler because I tend toward caring for others, I have a lot to give, and I like to listen to and affirm and help people.

But I love cuddling itself (regardless of the pro aspect) because of the closeness, connection, and feelings of being just fully accepted. And as I'm not currently and have no plans to be in a typical relationship, I definitely feel like cuddles help to stave off loneliness.

Goals would be, like, self-acceptance, self-care, and also sharing that kindness and acceptance with others. (Hopefully that makes sense!)

  • @SnugglyChelle Those are great aspirations and goals. Like you, I believe this satisfies my need for physical touch as well. Makes perfect sense!

  • Love all of this. Unfortunately there's still surely going to be a bit of friction simply because nobody's perfect, but it's worth it in the end!
