Don’t be cheap, tip them. It’s a service they provide. You tip servers in restaurants. It’s the same thing.
It’s like this with rental rates also. home prices and pretty much everything else that exists for consumers. Competitive pricing. matching market rates, or something like that. Market trends. This is just the way it is. It makes sense for big businesses to support each other. Tough on the consumer because we can’t catch a break, find something affordable. After all, we don’t all earn + $100K a year. And when you’re retired, it’s tough to even survive, Any Hope for future earning increase is gone. It used to be that one company would charge a little less to get the business away from the others. DFW, at least all gas prices match each other (I’m sure there’s better terminology to express this concept of capitalism that we all know) Consumer will continue to complain, prices will continue to go up.
Oh, I forgot to add because No One has ever said this before. No One on this site is entitled to anyone else’s time at any price or even for free. Adults in general are not entitled to anything except maybe the air we get to breathe (and it would be nice to be treated with respect sometimes but no one owes you a damn thing, so get over it. And try to earn what you want.)
@starrynitecuds A lot of new businesses start out trying to shoot the moon because they have visions of riches. Then reality sets in.
She also has this in her profile. Fee: $150/hr Plus $60 if 30 mins away Plus $90 if 45 mins away Plus $120 if 1 hr away Any weekend booking is an extra $100 (excluding virtual hangout) So if you book an hour $150 and you’re 30 minutes away + $60 and you book on a weekend +$100 = $310 for an hour and you tip “at least” 20% 20% of $310 is $62 bringing your total now to $372.

If comments like the above are labeled "complaint about prices" than call me a complainer. I also recall a similar fee structure in a profile few months ago, that got banned shortly after boarding the platform. The only difference was that the fees were even higher (all the fees could have potentially added to over $500 an hour for a cuddle session) This is pure greed. apparently, someone on CC knows better since both profiles are now banned. there is also the possibility (I SAID POSSIBILITY, NOT CERTAINTY) that the fees are code for "menu items" (Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence). Yes, some here are a little paranoid about SW and relating it to the price, but on the other hand some here are quite naive (sometimes intentionally)
@starrynitecuds
The price isn't going to come down as quickly, either. It's the "new normal," and people are going to complain.
I agree. Assuming this platform will keep growing and gain more members, this will also push prices up in my opinion.
@OhioMike
I always liked that quote about a rising tide lifts all boats....
But it is just a quote and in reality, the rising tide does not lift all the boats. Even worse, as the tide keeps rising, more boats are left behind.
The quote above is not a complaint about prices, it's a complaint about Fee-ieves ( @starrynitecuds add that one to the list). It is legitimate not to like such fee structure. more legitimate than pretending its ok while knowing it is not.
This thread is about tips but since the issue was prices was brought up, I think comparing prices is irrelevant for few reasons. some examples: -The availability of either side to host at their place, or the need to get a place to host, will impact the actual cost. ($200.00 an hour and $100.00 and hour can end up costing the same) -Pick any 10 different pros charging the same price and I will argue that they offer 10 different services. Also, 10 different pros each cuddling the same 10 different clients, and you get yourself 100 cuddle sessions where no two are alike so how you match with someone (or feel or think that you will) impacts whether you view them as "expensive" or not.
I would hate to live my life with a mindset of no one knows you a damn thing
Gas prices always inch up near major travel holidays—next week is July 4th. The reasons given by the industry are always different and the prices moderate on less busy times. That is the new normal and it’s been normal in that industry for some time now.
But for every 200 an hour pro there are at least five at 100 still. So the outliers are still obvious. There is a pro that just appeared in my neck of the woods that charges 500 an hour. She even contacted me after I viewed her profile to see if she cures cancer at that price. Will I book her? Absolutely not because the other options are plentiful. I am not going to complain. The market will work itself out.
To paraphrase @starrynitecuds . They can charge with they feel is good for them and you can pay whar you feel is good for you. Either it's good for you both or it's not . And if it's not good for you both I am sure that it will be good for you and the next person and for them and the next person.
@TheFunCartel June 30th is the end of the quarter. And in July there'll be record profits reported.
Fun fact: the reason for this week's sudden spike was explained in an Ohio news report. In a nutshell: "It was hot last week. We moved slower." No, it's not expected to decrease, either.
@lonelytauros I have to agree with @g_w_t_w on this, except that I normally just say "TANSTAAFL" (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch).
As Jim Cramer likes to say : "the only free lunch is limit orders"
@Jubal I don’t see it as a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. I see it as a mindset if I have the mindset of I don’t give a damn coming from a place of bitterness or anger then I might as well put a chip on my shoulder take the words favor and compassion out of the dictionary early civilizations would’ve never been able to advance without relying on one another and all relationships would fail.
@lonelytauros Ah, I understand. Yeah, I guess that's why I go with the TANSTAAFL mindset vs "don't give a damn"
In the meantime, I’m over here relaxing with my gorgeous self 😚
I think tipping is important Tips can come in many forms. Generally I provide a tip over and above the pro fee. When I get to know that person , I will often bring things of their favourite or something they like from a recent abroad too.
@pmvines
I'll try to remember to send my posts to you for the TLDR synopses.
@lonelytauros Maybe I’m more independent than you, I don’t need anyone to take care of me or give me anything. But I tend to be a generous person, and when it’s offered with kindness, I accept and enjoy and give back. Maybe I’ve lived a few decades longer than you and learned over time that unfair & unrealistic expectations will just make you miserable, cause other people to possibly avoid you if you act needy & entitled. You will see what I mean eventually. I’m sure you’re aware of the advantages to focus outward instead of inward and you will find a world of life to appreciate. Find strength & happiness for yourself.
I don’t tip though I swear it’s not because I am a cheapa**. Pros set their own prices (unlike restaurant servers/delivery drivers/etc) and they (should) get the money up front, so giving a tip after just feels super weird to me. Also clients are not responsible for the site fee. And in this specific situation, tipping can also be seen as an unspoken incentive to try to sway someone to provide more intimate (or outright sexual) cuddles as they now know more money is to be had if the pro puts in extra effort. It’s all something I feel gross about so I just avoid it. And as it was previously mentioned, it can also be seen as fee avoidance depending on the length of the cuddle vs the time booked. An exception for me would be gas money or a rideshare fee if they hadn’t already asked for that and I’m hosting.
Edit: And there is of course nothing wrong with a pro being appreciative of a tip or a client wanting to provide extra compensation for the wholesome platonic time they got to spend with a professional cuddler. It’s just tipping is personal, pros are service providers/independent contractors (ie not hourly employees) and no one should ever feel guilty or pressured about tipping here.
@bigspoonboston
Did you read through all the comments? There is some great information on why we tip waiters and waitresses due to the tip minimum wage laws in the country.
Also see @CharlieBear comments. It makes perfect sense. I agree with him also, I’m definitely not cheap.
@CharlieBear 💯 my feelings exactly. That’s why you typically don’t tip the owner of the hair salon, Nor the owner who is also the service provider, who is setting their own rates. If They want extra $$ Then they need to add that to their basic rate. My opinion but also common knowledge I thought.
@bigspoonboston it's nothing like tipping servers. We tip them because they are usually paid below minimum wage. A cuddler makes 100+ an hour. A tip is not necessary. If you feel your cuddler went above and beyond feel free to tip, but nobody should feel obligated.
Covering the cc fee is not the obligation of the client. Cuddler sets their hourly rate knowing they have to pay that fee. That's just their overhead, cost to do business.
Agree to disagree? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I agree to disagree
What would Jack Sparrow do?
@TheFunCartel The $500 pro in the neighborhood has already been banned.
@Allen1974 I noticed. Shocker. She seemed to be all about the cuddling.
@TxTom I can agree to disagree. I like doing that. Who is Bueller please?
