I Got Some New Clay

[Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

I got this clay from a company named Claydoll. I like that it dries lightweight and it is an air dry clay. The clay dries into in interesting almost foam like consistency.

I made some little creatures to test it out.

I put jacks in them so they can be popped into the jack of a phone and be displayed there as little pets. :)

This is a little coal friend on a fireplace.

This is a little storm cloud friend.

I'm going to keep working with the clay to see if I can make other stuff with it as well. :)

    Nice start.

Keep it up and start selling your creations on Etsy. :)

  • The lump of coal on the fire is clever. If you live up north you can clip him into your phone and he'll keep ya warm :p

I remember working with clay once in art class when we were exploring different mediums. I tried to make Gumby but it just ended up an amorphous blob with a random face floating in it. Haha

Side note: working with clay is actually REALLY good for your skin. Exfoliates, moistens, softens. Just make sure don't have any open cuts, it gets in there, it'll sting like the dickens.

  • Oh, also if and when you fire or bake your masterpiece, remember to leave a dime-sized hole in the base of it for heat to escape otherwise the clay will explode like a pressure cooker then ya got start over again.

@chococuddles Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. I'm definitely going to make more little creatures fir sure. :)

@White_Knight I heard that working with clay is good for your skin as well. That's definitely a bonus.

Thank you for the tip about putting a hole in the base. I will keep that in mind as I make more things with clay. :)

  • I like playing with clay sometimes too ... this is my favourite one so far:

@respectful I like the design. :) Did you use Polymer clay or a different type?

  • @MoonlightSonata Thanks! Yep, it's a polymer clay. Here's one more:

I like that one too. You just have to make some fairies and you will have some pieces for a fairy garden. :)
