I wonder why don’t we have an app for this website? How many of you agree that we should have an app for better notification and Profile Management?
I've had no problems with notification or profile management. I don't need no stinkin' app.

LOL, it's all us older folk that have no problem without an app. We lived in a world prior to apps...heck, prior to internet for that matter.

You can turn off notifications too ..

The site is available as a web app. Just add it to your Home Screen on your phone.

No need for an app. I only use my phone for this website. It’s always open on a chrome tab. It never signs me out. All I need to do is go to Chrome and select the open tab. So easy
I'm very happy I have the web app that shows me pop up notification. 🙌 we make it work as we can

I am currently in the process of going through my phone and deleting every app I do not use on a regular basis. I also refuse to put restaurant apps and gas station apps on my phone.
About 2 weeks ago I called a company I found online to get a quote for hauling some junk away (I am doing a purge of my basement). The guy told me I had to download their app and he would send me an estimate via the app. I asked if their was another way he could send me the app such as emailing it to me or just telling me over the phone and he said “no, we only send out quotes via our app.” I told him no thanks and hung up.
Out of curiosity I looked up his app on the Apple App Store and saw all the data his app would scrape from my phone (contacts, location, browsing history, etc. etc.). This is why I am purging all but the most essential apps from my phone…
John, we think alike. I use my tablet for "fun" apps I want (sports betting, restaurants, offerup) and my phone stays just for basic things like google maps, Lyft/Uber, and Southwest Airlines
@FriendlyFemale 💯 That is a good practice and I may follow your lead and further reduce the apps on my phone since I have a tablet that rarely leaves my home.
I also use an app that gives me 10 additional phone numbers, email addresses and browsers on my phone, as well as the ability to generate one time use “burner credit cards” for making online purchases without divulging my real credit card number (that also prevents my credit card company from tracking my purchases and selling my purchase history to data brokers and insurance companies).
Sometimes when I am using a website that requires a phone number I will give them a burner number (that works for calls and texts) and I will get a message that they will not accept that number. In that case I look for a different service provider because it absolutely confirms they are trying to get more data from me than I am willing to give them).

I have 2 burner numbers. lol, I used to use one as my "personal" fax # and fwd it to my office fax since I was an admin and the fax sat next to me.
@SweetPeaJen The app is called MySudo There is a very limited free version, an inexpensive middle version and a more expensive pro version. I have the pro version.
If you go to the Settings area you can install the app, and also go to Notifications tab and turn on Push Notifications. All Android devices support it, and I think iPhone's recently do but not sure. It's not a true app, but provides app-like experience (icon on homescreen, fullscreen, push notifications)
Why do you need an app? I get emails that are adequate for notifications, and the rest I'm fine perusing randomly. Apps are more overhead and who knows what they're actually seeing or tracking or what 3rd-party accessors have access to or share. They add to usage of battery, CPU, RAM, AI scanning, you name it. Some things I prefer on a website.
I tried the PWA (progressive web app) experience and I hate it. It interferes with a lot of things I use or prefer (I can't name them particularly without trying it out again, and I don't want to). It's cumbersome and unintuitive. I had great hopes for PWA, but like SPAs (single-page applications), they're too left-fieldy for me. I think it's why they haven't caught on much and are so still considered bizarre aberrations. If someone figures out how to make them appealing, great, but for now I prefer my website experience.
I wish we had an app. Yes I'm aware of the ways to work around not having an app, but i think I'd prefer an app. But oh well it ain't mine.
@MrMadi Interesting. Are you referring generally to PWAs, or our one? What things did you dislike?

Most of the apps what they do is to embed the web site into the app itself, just a container. So it is the same experience.
