  • @ozcuddle the first clue was when you said “pressures them to meet.” Anytime someone is rushing you to skip a step, hurry up, do it now, I’d say step back, not forward.

  • Yes but when u have spoken to them and have legit address and mobile number in end u have to make a decision to meet.always try to look on good side of people.

  • Sorry this happened.:(

O.P deactivated too, an hour after starting this thread. Irony.

With the transients from other not so platonic in nature sites I would be extra cautious of meeting anybody or giving out personal info to anyone if things don't seem right or line up. Craigslist and Backpage and other sites that have shut down or have had issues due to crackdowns on prostitution are not just notorious for sex services and hooking up, but are also known for scammers and for doing things such as luring you to a location and then robbing you or worse. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a little bit of that on this site too, especially considering the closing of some of the above mentioned sites where that sort of thing is fairly common.

  • I had a recent bad experience with someone from another site... all seemed pretty legit, and texts were short but nice, but once we started the session, I quickly realized that the "cuddler" was more like a "sex provider" trying to "upsell" me. I left as fast as I could.

  • it is best not to trust anyone 100%

  • What @Jason66 said! Trust is to be earned not given to strangers.

  • @Cupcakehugs

Is a fraud. She took $50 as advanced payment but did not show up.

    Be aware.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

That is why you do not send money to strangers.

  • @curiousgeorge1 Some pros ask for it up front before they will book your session especially if you are a new client.

  • [Deleted User]ShoShoZ (deleted user)

@Sal_Spoon Cupcakehugs is banned. Whatever payment service you used, report this person to them too.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

And if they ask for it up front, they will not get my business. Safety is first

  • @curiousgeorge1 What's worse? Sending money to a stranger? Or driving a ton of miles counting on a stranger not to no show? Lol. I currently only require advance payment for travel fees when I'll be going further than 30 miles to meet them, and probably only if it's a first-time client. Both parties are giving a bit of trust to get the first meeting to happen O:-) If I were a client, I would have a bit of a tougher time sending money to a stranger who also has no karma however... As a pro, when you're starting out, you need to put out a bit more trust than you take I feel, since you don't have anyone vouching for you yet...

A new member is telling people they must pay half up front plus travel fees. Her rate is 200 per hr with up to 80 for travel feels, and states can only be a guest at a hotel. I do not want to outright say she is a possible scammer as I completely respect peoples right to charge and set whatever terms they feel comfy with, however this is the sort of thing that if I were seeking a paid cuddler would make my radar tingle.

  • @pmvines Precisely. If I got to the point where I demanded that much up front, that means I'm busy, have plenty of inquiries, and I need both more of a filter to filter out the less serious so I don't waste my time AND insurance for the fact that I could have met with someone else (literally, and not technically speaking). Everyone has the right to do whatever they want, as you stated, but I would be reluctant to send money ahead to someone who doesn't have a sufficient number of people backing them up...

  • That's unfortunate.

  • @ubergigglefritz And considering she set up an account, did the meet and greet on the forum and started messaging people, and hasn't been on since the first day she signed up (which was 3 days ago) seems a bit strange but go figure I guess. like I said I am not one to really question what someone values for their worth, but that is what an escort would charge, and many may not even charge that much, for the hour, so there could be a little more than cuddling being offered I suppose. Also with the travel, I understand and respect charging for that, but to charge 20 for o-5 miles, and on up to 80 for 30-40 miles really doesn't balance out at all to amount of gas used or time spent. And considering it is hard enough to get steady business I am sure at 60 to 100 per hour, I am not sure how realistic these rates are but to each their own. If she can get the business then more power to her I suppose.

  • I saw that one with the $200 hourly fee. I knew there was something wrong when she said she charged $20 for 0 to 5 miles travel and expected to be hosted in a 5 star hotel. I understand travel costs, but $20 for a distance of 0? The whole fee structure was flaky, I sort of thought it was a sarcastic jab at some pro who the troll felt had mistreated them, I didn’t think it was a genuine pro cuddler.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

@ubergigglefritz both are bad. But it seems to me that a good rule of thumb is to never send money ahead of time. Sorry but my safety is a high priority, too. Thus only public meetings etc.

  • @curiousgeorge1 and that's a choice that each person makes. From the client's perspective, the risk of it being a scam is pretty low if the pro has more than just a couple karma. The more successful someone is, the less willing they tend to be to take a chance on losing all that time and money with no deposit. The newer someone is, the more likely they may be to take that chance, but you're also getting someone who you really can't be sure what you're getting. Pros and cons to each route. It's just a matter of what each person is most comfortable with =) Similarly, I'm more likely to take a chance on a client who has more than just a couple positive karma, and more likely to want some insurance for someone who's a mystery.

@ubergigglefritz and I wil always promote cautiousness. I would see an ideal meeting place as like a high trafficed mall, so if cuddling is desired after initial meetup, theaters are good options if they are the new kind with recliners etc.

  • Do the ones with the recliners also have armrests that go up? I've never been to one with recliners =)

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

    Yes they do

  • [Deleted User]lilredmage (deleted user)

I've been to and have cuddled at several different types of movie theaters. I've only been to one theater with recliners that have the armrests which go up and it's basically like a bed.

  • @lilredmage That sounds awesome for a movie theater. I have a couch that reclines all the way across and is basically like a bed, ha, but I have a much smaller screen O:-)

  • [Deleted User]lilredmage (deleted user)

To keep on topic, though. For me personally, it all depends on the person and the vibes I get from them. I've paid in advance via online payment for a full session before meeting a few professional cuddlers for the first time and even subsequent ones after that. I haven't run into any issues so far. It's convenient because I don't like walking around new neighborhoods (or old, sometimes risky ones) with a wad full of 20's in my pocket. Or worrying about what a cop would say if by chance I were to be stopped and searched and were to tell them that the money was for "cuddling." And if there was any type of dispute or disagreement between the cuddler and myself, I have a record of all transactions to back up any claims.

  • I have two moviepass accounts, I think this works with my love of movies hehe

The theaters in my area do recline and one may lift up armrests

I agree with what the girls said on the other matter

@lilredmage Upon reading your post above, my first thought was "Where does this guy live?" Somewhere where the thought of being randomly stopped and searched by police occurs to him... somewhere he and/or the police might think he owes anyone at all an explanation for the amount of cash in his wallet? I was like, "What planet is he on?" Then I clicked through to your profile and read Baltimore. I guess that explains it. You might want to consider relocating to a leafy suburb somewhere! ;-)

On topic (and all kidding aside), what @ubergigglefritz said makes some sense. There is risk on both sides, and everybody must make their own choices. I personally will never pay in advance. Did it once. Last year a cuddler whom I had seen before (and who had multiple good karma reviews) requested it as a favor because she was in a tight spot financially. I obliged, and she stood me up. Didn't reschedule, and didn't return my money or my calls. The only way I know not to get burned like that again is to never pay in advance again. I haven't and I won't. Advance payment requests are always a deal breaker for me. I've been on CC for a while now, been a consistent presence on the forums, and gotten good reviews from twelve members, both pros and enthusiasts. If that's not enough to establish that I'm not a flake to the satisfaction of a particular pro, it will be enough for someone else.

I know people have been talking about scams. I'm curious to know what do the scammer's profile look like. In other words, do they have a picture, is there profile description too short and doesn't make sense, or how do they talk to you.

I'm asking because maybe theres a pattern (at least with some scams) that you can identify. Obviously some scammers are better than others.
