Cuddle to make up for what's missing

Hello cuddle friends,

Is anyone using cuddling to make up for a lack of connection or physical touch in their home life? Asking for a friend... :)

    Whew! I was hoping I wasn't alone!

Yep... and just an overarching ache in my heart from having PTSD. I actually worry about it sometimes, because while I just adore the times I'm with such wonderful people, I know it can't possibly fill my soul the way my soul needs.

Anyone else feel this way? Thanks for the question @anevolvedlife

  • I think most people use cuddling to make up for a lack of connection or physical touch in their home life. If you had sufficient connection and touch already, you would be much less likely to be seeking it ;-)

Well, I'm anxious to try... Now to find a buddy! :)

I'm not currently. nor am I planning to be in a romantic relationship in the near future, so cuddling is definitely how I get my touch needs met. Cuddle parties are awesome for it, as well as professional sessions -- I exchange my time with another local cuddlist. It's so nurturing, I get to be myself, not judged, and get exactly the kind of cuddles/holding/types of touch that I naturally crave. We actually did a cuddle body map once, now I know exactly what to ask for to make myself feel the most happy, relaxed, and nourished. Great way to get unmet needs met in my opinion.

  • Yep, you're not alone. Wife does not like to be touched/cuddled with. Crazy how things change. Good luck!

  • Yes. I go days without physical contact, sometimes longer.

  • @TangibleTony Ha! Sometimes I go 2-3 days without even verbal contact. Ive been known to go out to lunch, just so I could speak with the server.

  • @mickcuddle I don’t interact with people for work, so I try to go out as much as I can; music venues, bars, meetups etc. I know the feeling.

  • I have yet to meet up for a cuddle session on here, but I do know that a lot of people give a lot of themselves to other people, either through their job or their friends and family. Cuddling does help reacharge you and reenergize you. Sometimes you need to mske time for yourself.

  • @mickcuddle Lol, that was so me. I live out in the country, and even when I worked in an office, I would go days without really talking to anyone. It did get better once I became friends with the rotation of security guys at the front, but before I started offering cuddles, I would basically attack (with conversation) any service person who came over, lol. So funny. We humans really do need our connection :-)

  • @rdagold That's the beauty of the paid session versus cuddling with someone you have a relationship with. The cuddle is all about you. You aren't supposed to worry about the other person's needs at all, with the exception of respecting their boundaries. You can let go all those pressures :-) It's a little better if both people in the relationship learn the value of honestly speaking your current comforts, wants, and "no"s, but only if both people do. That's another benefit to paid sessions. Getting comfortable with this communication in a safe space. We all strive for honesty, but there are so many social pressures to say yes to not be rude, to tolerate for the other person's benefit, etc. It's hard for that to not leak into even the closest relationship...

  • My wife and I recently separated, but even before that, we had zero, and I mean zero, physical contact for MONTHS on ANY LEVEL. Physical contact is of high importance to me and lack thereof was making my anxiety go up.

After my first session with a pro from this site, I was blissfully stupefied at the end of the session. You bet your ass I'm cuddling to compensate for what I've been missing and what I lost and my gosh is it helping my sanity.

  • I do. It's very healing.
