Free negative publicity

I’m curious at everyone’s thoughts. When we complain on the boards about things like clients who want more than just platonic cuddling and or sex workers on the site, aren’t we basically giving free negative publicity to the site. I realize that I am just as guilty of complaining publicly as anyone else but I’ve been on cuddlecomfort for a long time. This site has been an important part of my life for a long time now. Do you think we are doing a disservice to the site by airing out these complaints on the boards or does it need to be done? Would the site be better served if we just reported offenders to the mods and let them handle it behind the scenes? What do you all think?

  • Well I'm definitely not gonna piss down someone's back and tell them it's raining, making it public makes people aware, I only found out about it because of discussions, a cuddler informing me, and some profiles are obvious.

  • I think there are fine lines between being a Pollyanna and only looking at the positive things, making the community aware, and just persistent grousing because your experiences are poor. Ultimately, reporting is the only consistent method of improving the situation.

  • I can see your point view and I respect it, I still think it's a wonderful community with a bad apple once in a while, but that's true with everything in life I think.
Luckily I know what to look for now so I don't need to worry so much. But there are gonna be people who won't report cause they will take advantage of those type of services, so I imagine it can be tricky sometimes.

  • When we complain on the boards about things...

I do agree that you complain a lot.

    Ok Mrs Morpheus 🤣

  • I have read so many posts from women who join, thinking this is a safe place to find men who are likeminded and want only platonic cuddling, only to be immediately shocked by the reality of what they encounter. And especially true for new Pros.
So IMO it’s important to be very open honest clear about the reality here. These women often think that they’ve inadvertently caused or sent the wrong message.
I’m speaking of the legit people who come here to cuddle.

@Morpheus ~ I see your point. There is a very real possibility that new people/seekers will come into the forums, lurking, and be scared away by the complaints we post about inappropriate behavior we've either found or experienced. The thing is, I'd rather see the truth of some of what can be honestly expected to occasionally happen BE SHARED than to see newbies get blind-sided by it..

The site specifically states that this is a community of PLATONIC cuddlers. Are there going to be people who sneer, chuckle, and diss the idea as being a cover for sex work? Of course. Are there going to be people who are offended when they find out that the serious cuddlers want NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT BEHAVIOR? Yep. Oh well, then, let them go find a site that offers what they're looking to find!

To those who are seriously looking for Platonic Cuddles, I hope they stay around and not pretend that nonsense often happens on the internet. I also hope that they stay around and find that if you weed out the "bad apples," this place can be a lot of fun!! lolol

  • so what do you do when someone suggests inappropriate behaviors? What is the protocol beside leaving ending session?

  • Save anything that could document/prove what happened.

  • I'm just realistic about things, even the best orchards have bad apples :D.
With how close-knit of a community it is, I can tell 99.9% of the people are nothing but the best quality plucked from the apple tree. So I am by no means trying to make it seem like oh it's this big hive of bad people cause it aint. Cuddling, it's another form of medicine and treatment.
I do apologize if It might have seemed like I was suggesting otherwise. Im just a point blank straight to the point person.
I'm one of the sweetest apples on the tree, last apple reference I promise. XD

I agree that it is necessary to have something out there for the sake of awareness, to try to lessen the bad surprises. Of course, people have been known in the past to sour on the site based on all the arguing that goes on here.

  • Only thing sour is the occasional bad apple :3
    Sorry couldn't help myself.

  • @WriterGF Surely not, lol.

    @Morpheus
The question reminded me of how my father would react when I tried to tell him that his candies and cakes were not good for him: he'd quickly shove it into his mouth and gobble it before anything I said had any influence on his decision to eat it!

In all cases that I know, the object of one's addictions is unhealthy for us and would best be avoided (we are addicted to the drama and negative feelings caused by complaining and airing what's wrong about things). If we could avoid it, in my opinion, we are definitely better for it!

Besides that, with regard to communication as it relates to interpersonal relations, it isn't (necessarily) what one says, but how it is said that matters.

If we could reign in the negative feelings, plus the speech and behavior resulting from such feelings, this would be a different world indeed.
