Public Cuddles

I've been on CC for a couple of months now and I've had pros host me and I know what Guest means. However, with public cuddle sessions, I'm thinking of trying them, but I don't know what makes them different from private cuddle sessions (and the reaction of others around them). If you've have had public cuddle sessions, what did you do during the session (besides talk, obviously your gonna do that)? What made it different from having the pro host or be a guest.

Now for a poll (cause polls are fun).

  1. What type of cuddle sessions do you prefer?47 votes
    1. The Pro being a guest at my place
      19.15%
    2. The Pro meeting me in a public setting
        4.26%
    3. The Pro hosting me at their place
      76.60%

I've had a couple of public cuddles. One at the beach at night and one at a local park which was low traffic. Both on blankets. It's a very nice way to enjoy the outdoors while having the close contact of a cuddle. Obviously you have to be aware of your surroundings. I didn't notice much reaction at either place from passersby.

The majority of my cuddle sessions with a pro have been public. You can still be very cuddly in a movie theater, for example, or at the beach or a park. Most if not all passersby will simply assume that you two are a couple. More hand holding/hand massages and arm touching will take place. Maybe more. It all depends on your comfort level. For obvious reasons, you can't be as intimate but this can also be a good thing especially for first-time meetings because the risk of boundaries being crossed is much lower.

I am of a similar mind as lilredmage. Can still sit close and cuddle in a movie theatre or a lounge with those round booths. Or a bit out of the way in a park on a blanket with pillows and blankets. My experience with passers-by have only been positive as people tend to have the "aww isn't that a cute couple" reaction.

  • A public cuddle is a good option for your first time, if you're nervous, but it's hard for most people to 100% relax with other people around. You won't get the full experience of a private cuddle either, as you're usually limited in activity, in addition to the above common difference. I'm not a fan of public cuddling, with the exception of a movie cuddle when preferred for first time meets.

  • I am a pro, so I didn’t vote in the poll — but my rank would be 1.) (Me) Hosting because I’m comfortable in my own environment and can do a lot to make the cuddle as professional, comfortable, and hospitable as possible. (I’m not currently hosting, though, because I’m working on getting my living room ready to be a top-of-the-line host. But by the end of the summer, I will have my place set-up and I’m SO looking forward to it!) The downside is that with cleaning and set-up it can be more time-intensive. 2.) Public. There are a lot of potential pubblic (even low cost) activities to participate in. It’s like a cuddly date. Hand-holding, arm, head, leg stroking... hugging... Depending on the environment it may be harder to concentrate or it may be less fulfilling, depending on what you’re looking for — but it is also a safe option for a lot of us, and so because of those factors, I discount public cuddles. Either party can drive — or we can meet in the middle. No clean-up or prep work. 3.) guest. I never know what the environment will be like, and I have to travel, so this is the most stressful for me. Which is not to say I won’t do it... it’s fine (and may even be great!), it’s just not my favorite.

    Hope this helps!

  • Because of trust issues resultant from past trauma, but yeah I would only be comfortable with public cuddles because of safety and trust issues. I'm currently undecided about even going through with it because of said issues. I mean, I would like to...but, I don't know. :/

  • Once I get over my issues though, Id certainly be willing.

Sorry to bump the thread, I just wanted to make it clear I didn't intend to sound disapproving of the community or anything and I apologize if it came off that way.

  • I need to cuddle now, but no takers?

  • I much prefer they come to my place.

  • I strongly prefer going to a host's home, but am plenty open to public. I see people on here that I want to contact, but can only be guests or public, and that makes it tricky for me. Since my wife left me, I had to move back in with my parents, and even though I'm 29, there's still some old school rules, and they are not likely to be understanding of me potentially paying or inviting seemingly random chicks over to snuggle in my room.

  • If anyone is thinking of public snuggling and you are going to a outdoor area , through the woods or something , do be careful if you are in a tick prevalent area .
Do use a product with deet , not the cutter brand it’s only 25% , the repel brand you can find at the sporting goods stores it is 40% deet.
Spritz your shoes and lower pant legs , and go around your belt line at your waist .

  • I prefer cuddling in private, thx.

  • you’re welcome, @MarvinNYC

  • First session at my place. I have a space set up to cuddle, so it feels like a special event. Meeting in public is great, doing anything in public can cross boundaries and bring up taboos (both for & against).

  • @Marino What sort of boundaries could be crossed in public?

  • A public session would be like at the park cuddling up on a bench. Watching birds or people. Just an example of what I’ve had before. But it really could vary! Depending on how creative you can get! :)

  • @cease2exist I would assume it is in reference to PDA. What one may be fine with in private may not be ok with in public. And also you aren't just taking into account the two of you but also comfort level of those around you, as getting too cozied up in public can lead to the wrong idea from others.

  • @pmvines I just wanted naturally think one is less inclined to cross boundaries in public, what with all the possible witnesses and such.

  • I just think that you might be more likely to inadvertently cross boundaries of what the other person is comfortable with in terms of public affection. Not necessarily that it would even be anything major at all or non platonic in nature, just a lot of people are fine with one thing in private but not necessarily in public is all.

  • I've met a few women who could not stand any PDA, not even hand-holding or a peck on the cheek. But if someone agreed to cuddle in public, you'd hope they knew what that meant. I can foresee potential problems though.
