Hello to all my friends. I busted my phone and had to get a new one, which resulted in me losing my contacts and numbers so I'm basically starting over from scratch . I have been deactivated for a while , but logged back in to create this thread because I've made some good friends here and I don't wanna end up losing touch and don't want anybody to think I'm ignoring them if they haven't heard from me . My number is the same, hasn't changed , so if we have exchanged info and been in touch off-site please text me so that I will have your info again as I have no contacts or anything on my new phone ,and my memory is shit so I'm certain that I won't know it by memory .

    Tip: I backup all of my contacts using graphite marks on sheets of wood pulp.

    If it’s an android I guess nothing is backed up anywhere to make a seamless transfer to the new phone? Probably something techy that I don’t understand that’s OK.
    I’ve had a few people tell me they broke their phone and somehow lost my number. 🤔
    I was always…. “Ok whatever I don’t believe you”
    I never believe them but I guess because I have an iPhone that always seems sketchy.

    OK now you geeks are going to tell me why I shouldn’t have an iPhone, don’t bother I don’t care I’m good.
    (pmv and I are good to go)

    You mentioned android... with Samsung (android) you can back up to your Samsung account but you have to change the setting for it to do it.

    Thanks for clarifying! I would think that would be the case but wasn’t sure. Except I used to have a Samsung phone and it was backed up. Easy transfer of data when I would get a new one.

    I didn't know it was possible on modern phones to not have your contacts syncing (without intentionally disabling it). @great_pillow08 mentioned Google storage being full... Maybe when that fills, even contacts stop syncing? Sheesh. I've always thought it was BS that they let your photo storage overlap your email account.

    My phone took a dive off my motorcycle the other day and I just got a replacement yesterday.
    Somehow I backed up my contacts and have everyone...I think.

    He did that so people who know his username would click on the thread. If it was called, "I busted my phone and lost contacts", either a lot of people wouldn't bother clicking, or everyone would have to click to see if they knew "I".

    ...Which would be solved if the board showed not just who posted last, but always displayed who started the thread, like most boards I've been on in my life...but 'tis what it 'tis.
