I guess now that I’m retired and can look back over many jobs I have had. I think the best when I started my 2nd business, transporting mostly boats. I built my own work and play truck and was able to work on my timetable and do the jobs I wanted to do. I got to travel to 35 states and approximately 400K miles and got paid to do it. The truck I built is a 1953 Ford cab over with late model running gear. I love the older cars/trucks. The worst job, I would say is when I owned my own boat sales and service dealership . It was not bad at all, but the bad part was as the owner I had to fire people. I always hated when I had to do that as I would study it overnight before I did it. I have been on both sides of the desk as I call it. I have always thought, if you wake up and you hate to go to work then it’s time to change jobs

Worst job- Red Robins when a 6 year old laughed with her parents and told me I missed a spot when I was cleaning the glass windows

The best job I’ve had was also the worst paying one. I was a pyrotechnic on a nightly fireworks show at an amusement park. Show up at 2:00 pm to strike the previous night’s show, reload the pyro effect in literally hundreds if not thousands of launch tubs. Then sit back and watch the show at 8:00 pm. The fireworks were shot off from an island in a lake, so the crew of six were in bathing suits. It was more like play than work. I remember people whispering at the cafeteria when they saw us in bathing suits. “What department is that?” “That’s the firework crew”, “Ohhhhh”. Mad respect.
The worst job I’ve ever had was also by far the highest paying. Think upper upper management. I was asked to do some pretty shady things. When I refused to do them, my department was downsized by one.
