@JohnR1972 your last paragraph struck me, and as much as we dislike the adversity we've endured, you're right, it makes us who we are today. I will say there are two changes in my life I'd make with no apologies. I'm sure the ripple effect would be huge, but I I cannot see a negative aspect at all for those choices. I'll dwell on it a bit more. Thanks for sharing 300. I haven't seen it in years and it's time for a refresh.

I happened to watch 300 again last night and it wasn't Gerard Butler that said my favorite line. Not surprised I had that mixed up, lol.
The book “11/22/63” is about a person that goes back in time to try and stop the JFK assassination. It deals with alternate history.
@TheNewNovelist I learned quite a bit about JFK and the assassination after reading "11/22/63". I believe I googled through more conspiracy theories regarding JFK than I care to admit.
The promise of that entire dark chapter of American history being declassified, pending the outcome of a very important decision soon, is a very exciting prospect.
No doubt there are those deeply entrenched in the bureaucracy who are less than thrilled by it. Hopefully, they'll be sorely disappointed.
Sidebar, one of my all time favorite movies is Thirteen Days, about the Cuban missile crisis. The actor that play JFK absolutely nails it.
Thirteen Days sounds lile a movie I need to see. That was an extremely tense time in our history.
