Ghosted by Provider after sending deposit

I was struck by the term "voluntary deposit" in OP's post -- does that mean the pro did not mandate one?

  • Have you asked for a refund? If you want a refund you should ask for one.

  • I would say something like, "If you don't intend to follow up on a session with me, then please kindly reimburse me for the deposit." If she fails to respond, report her.

  • @Mike403 Yeah, that's true...They couldn't look past their own "deceased prejudices" when it came to Casper! Shame on them, Casper was a sweetheart of a ghost!👻❤️😁

Sorry to hear this happen to you :(

  • @WriterGF you are correct. She did not as for one though on her profile she does say she can request kne. So I volunteered to give her a deposit to show goodwill and sh she knew I was serious.

  • If she’s ghosting OP, why would he believe she will magically show up to return his money? Why would anyone think that, as some of you have written.
The only thing that would make her return the deposit is her own conscience and most importantly a 1 star karma. I think it’s valuable to give a heads up to anyone else who might book with her. Who knows what’s going on in her life but she shouldn’t be doing Pro Cuddling imo.

  • I'm sorry this happened to you. That's wrong for her to keep your money without rescheduling your cancelled session. Give that pro 1 star karma review to warn other potential clients, then report her. I understand emergency sometimes happens but a REALLY REPUTABLE PRO who take their job as a professional cuddler SERIOUSLY should NOT ghost client. And instead should offer client to reschedule at a discounted session to compensate client for the inconvenience. In my 6 years here as a professional cuddler with over 650 clients, I've ONLY cancelled 1 time ONLY due to stomach virus back in 2019 & I immediately rescheduled that client with discounted session to compensate for his inconvenience. That client became one of my many regular clients. I'm one of the pros who requires 50% advance deposit for NEW CLIENTS due to uptick of too many flaky time wasters here who scheduled sessions with NO intentions of ever showing up on their scheduled session. I've been burned too many times by flaky new clients. My karma reviews speaks for itself.

Probably a stupid notion, but I wonder if she might have been a little weirded out by getting a deposit when she wasn't asking for one?

  • I don't think "she will magically show up to return his money," but if OP wants his money back it will require a process. The first step in that process is to actually ask for it. It's not clear from his OP that he has done that.

  • No one will get weirder out by a deposit, it would make the cuddler think oh this person is trustworthy. Just report this profile

@Mike403 THOSE we're his uncles, not Casper. Lol 😆

    Casper just wanted a friend!😁

    1. Has she been reported?
    2. Have you left 1 star Karma?
    3. Did she cancel within 12 hours of the session?
    4. Has a mod contacted you?
    5. If guilty with proof, has she been reprimanded?
  • Never send a desposit. You are just asking to get scammed. This is the internet. Be smart

  • Any resolution yet or what

  • @TeddyCuddle45, it is still being investigated. Someone from CC reached out to me asking for follow-up information. Says still being investigated.

  • Agreed @mikecannon1 never pay for something online that you haven’t received, from someone you don’t know, and whose identity you can’t verify. It’s all too easy to be ghosted, as the OP’s case unfortunately proves.

  • [Deleted User]gem7 (deleted user)

@mikecannon1 @SeekerInVA I agree and you would think it had become common knowledge.

  • It really is a conundrum because I believe there are some Pros with so much history, respect and good Karma, and who do require a deposit because they have too many experiences with being burned, and because they’re very busy and it is a way to hold a spot In their schedule. They have plenty of regulars, so your refusing to send a deposit doesn’t matter to them one single bit. You just don’t get to book a session with them.

I would never send a deposit for any amount $$$ that I couldn’t afford to lose. I believe the same for the idea of making a purchase online at a website without a known reputation and legit reviews. (Which I never do)

But I also would never send a deposit out of desperation, or to someone who doesn’t seem trustworthy Or have a proven record. Most of us should be street smart enough to know what I’m talking about.

  • Voluntary deposit sounds like another word for gift.

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

@BashfulLoner Yes, I could see the pro making that argument. She didn't ask for a deposit, and we don't know if it was specifically characterized as a deposit when it was made. It might be splitting hairs, but I am not sure how many unsolicited deposits the mods run into here.

  • Update: She finally contacted me. We are working things out. Seems like the mid team reached out to her.

  • Good. I hope it all works out well in the end. 🙂

  • @TeddyCuddle45 she reached out to me today. We are working it out. Seems like mod team reached out to her.

  • Well sounds like that was a deposit in to something worthwhile, maybe. Glad you heard back, hope it works out.

  • There are obviously 2 sides to every story as @FunCartel_ has stated-
It would be nice to hear the Pro's version to have a balanced view.

if the story is accurately presented by @srchecho -then I would have to say He is clearly demonstrating Job like patience.

We all have "a lot going on" so that would never be an excuse to keep money for services not rendered.

A truly honest professional would let you know they have "a lot going on" and apologetically have to cancel the appt. while simultaneously giving you your money back. This is not complex.

Again- Only going on your version of the story-the solution is extremely simple.

Contact the Pro and plainly tell them- You have 3 days to send me my money back or I will report you I feel for your personal situation but I need my money and I have been very patient.

While I have made my opionion of 'Over Reporting" very clear in previous posts- Some one stealing your money is a reason the feature exists.

While I also have no problem with Pros who request Deposits-nor should it should label them scammers- i definitely agree with @Morpheus

In this day and age-I would NEVER send a deposit and if that were a deal breaker for cuddling then I would happily find another cuddler.
