Funny enough, this was a conversation I had during my last cuddle session! Where the Wild Things Are, Nova's Ark, and most recently Monkey King and the World of Myths (basically Sun Wukong meets Greek myths).
I live with a three year old right now and today's kid's books are wild... We read this book called The Barnabus Project about a genetically engineered mouse-elephant and his friends.
For a classic we both love "Owl at home".. I remember my grandpa reading me that.
Black Beauty and Treasure Island were favorites of mine.
I have so many. I collect children’s books actually. I’m an illustrator, i can’t help it! But what always comes to mind as a favorite is House at Pooh Corner. It’s actually full of many a great lessons. I’ve reread it many times as an adult Love A.A. Milne illustrations Also another is Peter Rabbit - Beatrice Potter & illustrations. And now typing this, it reminds me of how much I loved being in the lake District in England. Talk about inspiring to writers, artists and poets! Now I’m thinking of a whole bunch more lol.
My favorite children’s book is “Horton Hears a Who”. Horton saves the lives of a microscopic world living on a speck of dust. All the towns people called him crazy for worrying about that silly dust so much. All I know is that we need more Hortons in this world. Now more than ever.
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. I loved it as a child and cried when I reread it recently. Such an appropriate, bittersweet ending.
Also that book left me with a lifelong love of spiders. I still have my first pet spider (Charlotte of course) in a vial. She's been in that vial since the 70s.

Anything Dr. Seuss, Charlotte’s Web was great but my very best favorite I’d have to say “Where the Wild Things Are”. Other favorites are like “Where the Sidewalk Ends” or “Falling Up”.

I have 2. First is The Jungle Book. I have an illustrated copy that I just love. The 2nd is The Little Match Girl. It’s a poignant book, because it’s extremely sad, but also oddly hopefully.
When I was in grade 6 or 7, I read a book called “The Kite Runner” and it truly opened my eyes at such a young age that there are others my age that have real and true life struggles that could be a matter of life and death. Definitely changed my perspective on me being upset if I got a glass of milk instead of a glass of juice lol I also felt the same about “Breadwinner” by Deborah Ellis. The hardships women had to go through in Afghanistan during the war.

@CentralFLCuddle “The Little Match Girl” is also one of my favorite books, it made me cry every single time. Very say but beautiful.
My favorite children book is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I loved the original song for Augustus. They should’ve kept it in the movie. Hated Wonka. Hated that movie so much.
