  • @SunsetSnuggles - There was a waitress at a night club who called me "babe". That doesn't mean she wanted to date me. It sometimes generates additional business/tips especially from male client/customers.

    The intent of most women using pet names on a stranger is to make the man erroneously believe they could be intimate, for her personal gain - usually financial. They would typically have zero interest or intention of doing anything non-platonic...it's a manipulation tactic.

    On the flipside, from what I've seen, most men using pet names on strangers do actually have the intent to be non-platonic. Their reason for creating the sense of false intimacy is for personal gain of a romantic or sexual nature.

    Humans are fascinating.
