PlayStation 5 owners, don't pass up on this masterpiece...

Astro Bot is Sony's answer to Super Mario.

Comments

  • Ill check it out. Thanks

  • They brought Astro-Bot into 2d?

  • @IronLemon - The first game was exclusive to PSVR. They decided not to do it for this game to make it accessible to more people.

  • I'll have to keep it in mind next time I'm looking for something light.

The VR stuff was fun and clever, though.

  • @IronLemon - Sony needs to give a reason for people to buy their PSVR 2 headset. If they at least made VR an option, that could have been a system seller.

  • @Mike403 I had to give up VR due to neck problems, so I'm happy to see a 2D version. Even if I can't bash blocks with my head anymore.

I had a job interview with a VR company. They said the biggest obstacle they face is that it makes so many people motion sick.

  • @WriterGF - It does at first. You have to use VR in short bursts until your body gets used to it. We call it "getting your VR legs"

VR causes your eyes to experience movement while your other senses says you're stationary. The conflicting information makes your body believe that you may have been poisoned. That's why people get motion sickness.

  • This is why the birth rate is so low these days.

Also, if Astro Bot can't wash my car, I'm not interested.

  • And you don't have to be a gamer to appreciate a classic sound...

  • I'm playing this at the moment. Definitely one of the better games I've played this year!

  • Astro Bot's face looks very similar to Anki's Vector and Cozmo pet robots.

I considered getting one, but last I checked they were discontinued. They didn't really do anything useful, anyway. So I plan to get a Roomba later this year to help combat those dastardly Dust Bunnies.

  • They all look like my favorite genderless girly

  • @KuddlyKoala

Exactly what I thought when I saw it too.

  • Already made it to the end credits in less than a week after the game was released(much more to do though).

The way they present it is the most creative way I've ever seen in a game.

  • Just a few PlayStation trophies away from platinuming it. The game is more addicting than Super Mario.

  • I played the Astro Bot game included with the PS5 and it was fun! Have a few titles I need to play (Plucky Squire is on my list) so might get this one for Christmas

@marth - That was Astro's Playroom. Get the new one. It cost $60, but is worth every penny.

  • @Mike403 yeah, I'm excited to play the new one cause I enjoyed Playroom! Definitely looks fun from the streams I watched and what friends said about it.
