Cuddling vs massaging

Both techniques are soothing and comforting. However, I hear that massaging has a tad more satisfying. What do you think?

  • I think satisfying in different ways. Cuddling is more emotionally satisfying. Just depends on what you're looking for. Want to soothe your muscles? Massage. Want to soothe your soul? Cuddling.

  • Yeah, cuddling reaches my whole body and someone else's whole body all at once. There's only one action that can top and it's not one I'm looking for on here.

Personally, I like them both. I like to have massages in my Cuddle sessions whether they'd be shoulder, head, back, feet, or deep tissue. Like @ubergigglefritz said Cuddling is more emotionally pleasing because of the bond you share with your cuddle partner, but massages are physically pleasing because of how massaging removes knots, aches, and pains.

  • I love both and if massaging could be incorporated in to cuddling with someone; even the better. a spa day that leaves you feeling soothed and comforted spiritually, emotionally, and physically, is a great day.

  • I’m a novice at both platonic cuddling and amateur massage. Cuddling is much more mutual than massage. We cuddle, but you massage me or I massage you. We might trade massages, but they are done separately. I belong to a free massage site that has been a little more productive for me than Cuddle Comfirt has. But I also find the people on the massage site are more likely to turn a simple oil rub into a sexual event. Not sure how I feel about that

  • Massage... is not always comfortable for me. I have some muscle issues that I need work on, so when I see a masseuse/masseur I spend at least some of the time in a little bit of pain. (It’s necessary and therapeutic... and I want the issues to resolve, so I’m okay with the pain.) I leave the massage super-relaxed, but it’s dwdinitely different than cuddling...

I feel more personally connected when cuddling, and I’m never in pain...

I know they somewhat overlap, but in some ways it’s apples and oranges.

  • @ubergigglefritz Nailed it. Although most folks ask for a light massage during cuddling and it works well together. Light massaging or scratching

  • As a client, I prefer massaging my pros vs them massaging me.

Finding a massage therapist is infinitely easier than finding a cuddle buddy. There are many different types of massage from light-touch to deep tissue. They are not all designed to soothe muscles. Relaxation and stress-reduction are two of the chief benefits. I'm sure it's great to have a cuddle partner but trying to find one causes stress, whereas massage relieves it.

  • That's because being a massage therapist is an accepted profession. Cuddling is not yet. It's still very much in the early stages, so not only is it tough to find people, but it's tough to find genuine good cuddlers. The increased government crack down on sex workers is also making things even more difficult. I hope you can find someone. But in the meantime, you are right in that massages are relaxing also, just in a different way :-)

  • What @morpheus said.
I enjoy giving more than receiving,
which is why I prefer cuddling.
Plus I don't get the euphoric feeling from a massage.
But I have many times begun a cuddling session by giving her a massage first.

  • Further proof that all pros are different and some are a better match for someone than others, ha. I'm not real big on receiving massages ;-) I can give a good back massage (or feet, or hands), but never really enjoyed massages too much myself, and definitely not anything deep ;-)

  • I love starting off cuddle sessions with a light back massage - it gives us a nice opportunity to get used to one another's touch. I am not a professional masseuse but I do know some basics of massage - and especially enjoy working out some of those nasty knots that get in our shoulders from typing all day :-) I never want the Client to think they have to give me a massage, because I want the session focus to be both about us cuddling together as well as a little pampering for you.
@Morpheus I love that you enjoy giving Massages to your Pro's - and will remember that when I come to L.A. - I have had some clients who are similar, & it gives them joy to give the massage, and I appreciate it so much!!!

I absolutely love giving massages. @AlexBabyBoo23 summed it up for me when I saw her a couple weeks ago. She had read "The Five Love Languages." As I was massaging her arm she asked me if I had read the book. When I told her I had, she said she guessed that one of my favorites was Acts of Service. I would much rather give a massage than receive one.

  • Massage can be nice during a cuddle session but I don't really like to receive them because someone can hurt you if they don't know what they're doing. I have had that happen before. As far as receiving massage I prefer to get one from a licensed pro. I find cuddling to be far more satisfying than massage.

  • I used to take massages regularly. I realized my favorite part was the hug at the end. After my first cuddle I realized that I drew a lot of energy and really felt rejuvenated after a cuddle session. I guess if I was in pain I would go back to massage. But for now, it’s cuddling for me.

I have tried massage only, massage and cuddle, cuddle only. After few attempts to try finding out if the best combination would be a hybrid of massage and cuddle. But after several attempts, I find they both cannot be mixed. When your muscles needs attention - massage can only serve the true purpose! When your emotions needs attention, cuddles will do the magic! When both needs attention attend first to what is important :) .. Said that, no harm trying it all and see what works best for you. We all are different!

  • I’d say cuddling is more wholesome. No shade to massaging but it’s more likely that you’ll be held, holding someone, wrapping arms around... if you get a massage, it’s generally someone else briefly holding you for the purpose of.. well, varying purposes. Emotionally, cuddling can be more satisfying. Massage is more physical.
