I’m convinced that the vast majority of people have never had a good massage. When I get a good one I am prone to shed a tear due to pain. It can easily take my breath away. I go from barely being able to walk upright and in a straight line, to feeling 15 years younger and mobile again. I’ll walk up stairs as leaving all wobbly like I’m drunk due to so many toxins being released or whatever. Giving and receiving massages while cuddling is super fun but it’s just not the same and one word isn’t going to make it comparable.

Thank you so much for all of your input! This has been such a fun thing to talk about. Some long time cuddlers and I were having a discussion, and one thing that seems to come up repeatedly is EMOTIONAL CONNECTION.

BOTH MASSAGE THERAPY & PROFESSIONAL CUDDLING give some similar things.
Paid/hired to touch you however you want PLATONICALLY.
Paid/hired to talk to you however much you want PLATONICALLY.
Paid/hired to spend as much time with you as you want PLATONICALLY.
Paid/hired to create an abience however you want PLATONICALLY.
Paid/hired to listen to you however you want PLATONICALLY.

But the most commented thing that is missing with a Professional Massage Therapist and a Pro Cuddler Experience lends itself to EMOTIONAL touch therapy instead of MUSCLE /SKIN touch therapy.

There have been multiple ways of conveying this.... reciprocal, face to face, shared..... but the one that really resonated with me was this...

    BODY vs SOUL

I think we are all here because we are needing some emotional connection with our SOUL.

So many cuddlers say "I NEED TOUCH" but in reflecting on all of these comments I think touch might actually be a secondary need.
In 99% of the complaints about Pro's it seems like this is the bottom line, no matter the subject or discussion. We want MORE. We want AUTHENTIC. WE WANT TO BE SEEN AND HEARD. We all want the emotional aspect and some cuddlers are better at that than others.

This was one thing I thought about at a course I was taking last week....... If we so desperately want this kind of authentic relating, we can not expect to get our tank filled with one professional cuddler. With one professional session.

Maybe... JUST MAYBE.... I'm going out on a limb here..... Maybe we can start looking for emotional connecting everywhere in our lives in EVERY place we interact with other human beings.

Maybe... JUST MAYBE.... if we look at our Pro Cuddlers to be a place holder or an emergency tank filler, instead of the ONLY source of emotionally connecting, we could find a deep sense of fulfillment in our everyday lives. Some might even call it JOY!!

Thank you! I appreciate all the feedback. Happy Saturday Cuddleverse!!

  • Body vs Soul is the best one!!

I am choosing to comment in memes here...😊

Which is TRUE, with all of MY OWN massage therapy appointments in the past, present and forever future. Yep, they're "seeing me" without my skin on and I like that! πŸ˜πŸ‘

This^^^ excludes the "Cuddle Pros" that are obvious protestitutes in disguise, may they continue on getting banned left and right.πŸ˜πŸ‘

  • So, that's how I see MASSAGE THERAPY VS PROFESSIONAL CUDDLING, memewise anyway. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

  • @sillysassy You are right when you say Authentic, I may only be speaking for myself but that is the #1thing I like in a massage or cuddle - or just from anyone I chose to be friends with. I've been here a while and cuddling definatly has evolved to be more businesslike and less authentic. I used to love cuddling but I just don't really have any desire to cuddle with people I don't find Authentic, so I haven't actually cuddled in a few months. I think massage is the same, if it's not authentic you can just kind of sense it and the result just isn't as good. Sort of like how you can can't do a truly great job at whatever you job might be, unless you love it. I had a close friend who was probably the best masseuse I ever met...she studied in Bali and was just hands down way better then anyone. But of course it was because we were very close friends, and so she was completely authentic and there was definatly emotion involved, so you ended up feeling it in her touch. So anyway I agree, Authenticity and Emotion are the two main ingredients. But of course the trick is to somehow make that shine through when it's also a cold hard business transaction, and that requires some finesse.
