What’s on your mind, Cuddlers?

Well I ended the month of May with cuddling probably 4-5 times more than I did in the past several months. So on my mind right now, I ask myself am I an official addict to cuddling or what :) ? LOL.. The more I cuddle, the more I want :o !! I have to confess more frequent cuddles are starting to change me positively in various ways at emotional, health, and more aspects! So I sit on a dilemma is it a medicine that is healing at ground root level or is it an addiction that’s keeping me probably up on cloud-nine Ann fine :p !!

I've had a different experience/reaction. I'm honestly burned out on cuddles at the moment and now I don't want to be touched by anyone for awhile. lol!

  • I'm in agony over the wait until my next session.

@lilredmage , that’s interesting to hear or I should say sorry to hear! I think I have been emotionally burnt cars giving at different fronts and that burnout is probably driving me towards cuddling as an escape nest or something. But, I do understand what you are saying I think I had that phase for almost 3-4 months back in 2012 and 2014. But every time I came out from that phase I doubled my cuddles LOL! So be warned ;-) !

@cease2exist , I had probably similar extreme craving a week back that made me go on a cuddle rampage :o

  • @choicesvital Ha, I wish I had the option to rage, but my only partner so far is a limited availability pro and I'm a broke separatee with part time daddy duty. Given the option, I'd be trying to get cuddles every 2-3 days.

@cease2exist , I hear you bud! I would too love to cuddle every 2-3 days..

  • Greater Philly area needs to step it up.

Believe it or not, I used struggle few years back in DC area but so glad that it has been stepping up well. Still lots to be done but it’s headed in right direction!

  • For context, I have not had a cuddle session, and have not been that physically intimate with anyone for a long long time, and have come to this site looking for the positive benefits that you have outlined. I do, however have a concern as far as you saying you are "addicted" to cuddling, whether in jest or not. I don't want to generalize too much because I don't know you or your situation, but would I be incorrect in assuming that since you are single like me, that you came here hoping for the benefits of cuddling because you simply did not have a romantic partner which you could receive this from? My concern comes in if you give up on looking for a romantic partner because you have replaced that need with constant easy cuddle sessions which, while certainly feeling good, does not provide the same life benefit that a true romantic relationship does. I hope I was able to explain myself sufficiently, and not offend anyone.

@mduncan50 , you make a fair point but the fact is I do enjoy cuddles this way. Not truly ready to commit myself into romantic relationships long or short term.

  • I think, like any "addiction", it's only really an issue if it's negatively affecting your life or relationships. For example, if you're building debt or unable to pay your bills in order to fulfill your cuddle addiction...

  • @mduncan50 I get your sentiment, but remember that not everyone prioritizes finding a relationship. Cuddles are a great way to fulfill touch needs without committing to a relationship you don't really want. It also eases the pressure to find something ASAP even if you want a relationship (can result in entering a relationship that's not really right for you). As long as you don't get overly dependant and attached to one cuddler in particular, it shouldn't impede your developing feelings for someone if the right person comes along. :-)

  • @ubergigglefritz I was not trying to imply that he, or anyone, should be prioritizing finding a romantic relationship rather than looking to cuddle, after all I am on here hoping to do just that. However, since he was asking for points of views and potential drawbacks, I simply gave one example of where it may be an negative issue. @choicesvital replied that he does not feel ready for a romantic relationship, which is completely valid, and it tells me that he is making a conscious choice on the matter rather. Again, I did not mean to offend anyone, but to give a point of view he may not have thought of.

  • I cuddle every day

  • I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply you were meaning anything else. Just conversing :-)

  • And I am doubly sorry for making you feel sorry. Sorry, I'm Canadian.

  • I still need to experience the Canadian over-friendliness ;-)

  • Well if you ever find yourself in the area, I would be happy to give you a first hand experience.

@ubergigglefritz , I do like how you define addiction :)

  • [Deleted User]choicesvital (deleted user)

@Morpheus , do you cuddle pros daily? Also, do you more frequently repeat any? If so, how frequently you repeat your favorites while ensuring you don’t get addicted to their touch and companionship :) ?

  • @choicesvital cuddling pros daily would be quite an expensive habit lol I cuddle daily but generally only cuddle pros once a month. I don’t get addicted to pros touch and or companionship. I enjoy the moment and then I let it go. I am a very detached person. One of the reason that I enjoy pros is because they don’t require a relationship. I can get what I need and move on without any expectations.

  • [Deleted User]choicesvital (deleted user)

@Morpheus , I hear you daily with pros might be too expensive :) .. Yeah the very reason I only cuddle with pros is the core aspect that it does not bind me into relationship type commitments

  • @choicesvital - why should cuddling with a non-pro bind you into a relationship? So long as you make it clear it's a cuddling friendship only, I don't see why there should be any issue.

  • @UKGuy it's just human nature. Emotions come. Expectations. Obligations. Wonder about where things are going or if the other person is wondering. Etc. That's one of the things so freeing and relaxing about cuddling with a pro. You know there's no judgment, expectations, or questions about where things are going.

  • [Deleted User]choicesvital (deleted user)

@UKGuy , I hear your point and it would work well if my situation was bit different. I think I have knowingly unlearned that skill where I can set expectations straight to a friend around just cuddling. As @ubergigglefritz called out, I think before I would realize, I will be bounded with expectations, obligations, emotions, etc. Lately I am so burnt out at emotional front due to all the care giving commitments that I cannot risk myself into any form of relationship that may start expectation indications later..

Love the poll responses on this post! I never expected such a response to the poll question that I attached at the bottom of the post!

  • @ubergigglefritz you made some great points!! That's the advantage of cuddling a pro. With a non-pro, you need to spend time and effort to get to know the person and at the end you might still end up not cuddling when you eventually meet in person.

  • @ignis made some good points too from a different thread.... [if you are not perfect, mentally or physically, the odds of you finding a non for profit cuddler are] slim.

  • I don't know if I believe that @angela10. Of course some people will have their preferences as to who is attractive to them, but I find that a little concerning when it is supposed to be completely non-sexual why would you need to find them sexually attractive. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but as one of the ugly broken people, I would be happy to cuddle with anyone from ugly broken people to supermodels that have it all together.

  • To each's own I guess. If you really think about it. Cuddling is a very intimate act on its own. I for one can't just cuddle with anyone.
