@Mike403 I was on a cruise when Cupid Shuffle got popular. On Mardi Gras night, they divided us into competing groups. We did that stupid dance for over 2 hours straight going from party to party around that entire ship. NEVER AGAIN!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!
@Gwynne42 - I used to frequent a dance club before Covid that played that song nightly. I still have nightmares about that ridiculous dance.
There is a commercial both on TV and the radio for: Kars4Kids. The theme song is like an icepick thru my temple (not that I've experienced that IRL)
If I never have to hear that gawdawful "baby shark" song again, it'll be too soon
(It's extra cruel to market such songs for kids who will insist on playing it again and again while mothers and fathers are bleeding out their ears hearing it!

Literally anything by the Spin Doctors, but in particular, their 2 biggest (only 2 I think?) hits, which I refuse to name. I’ll passionately defend your right to like those songs, but I’m disappointed and hurt. Those songs are insufferable.

@SeekerInVA There was an episode of some show on Vh-1 a few years ago called “The 10 Worst Songs of the 1980s” and that song was voted the worst. One comment said the song embodied the worst attributes of the 80s. They made some strong points. And I agree when it comes to Jefferson Airplane…this song is a pale imitation of what they once were. But in the end it’s all just our individual opinion.

A podcast about the Disgusting Food Museum helped me to see that good (food, art, experiences…) and bad (…) aren’t always on opposite ends of a spectrum. Sometimes the line separating them is thin. Sometimes the line is subjective and contextual. And sometimes a thing that makes us love one thing is the exact thing that makes us loathe something else. (I’m thinking about the irritatingly catchy baby shark melody).
