To all the Atlanta cuddlers (and everyone else in the path of Helene), I hope you all stay safe today and tomorrow.
Out of curiosity, do you all find that storms provide more opportunities to cuddle or less or does it not really effect it that much?
I would think less, since you can't go out due to wind, flooding, power outages, etc. Hard to go meet anyone.
Keeping everyone in its path in my thoughts and all the people who are far enough away to be safe but have family who are not. π
I would agree with @WriterGF . Iβd assume people would be more concerned with their safety and prepping than attempting to find a person to cuddle with. Especially as they may have to shelter in place for a few days.
However after the storm has passed? Quite possibly. If itβs as bad as theyβre predicting there is going to be quite a bit of grief, trauma, and other good and bad feelings. I could imagine people are going to want to feel close to others coming down from all of that. π
Yeah ... I can see that; it is what i would expect. I know I led with the mentioned the hurricane; but I just meant any type of storm. I imagine the bigger storms, like hurricanes, keep people away. Just mentioning In case that changes things.
I am super new here; so I am assuming nothing ... mostly because I'm certain I know very little (of this flavor of the world at least).
@GuyverGordon Ah, yes, your typical thunderstorm is a lovely time to cuddle. βοΈ Very cozy and a beautiful atmosphere. π

@SunsetSnuggles I'm going to be honest ... I have no idea if you are being sarcastic or not. No worries either way; I can kind of see it both ways. I'm certain that there are people at would find beauty in the storm; I'm picturing maybe a couple sitting on a porch. But then, maybe that is just me thinking weird (I don't really know)
@GuyverGordon π€ I do love me some good sarcasm, but nah, I was being serious. I've actually had a wonderful cuddle with a friend in a park, hiding under a picnic blanket as the thunder turned to light rain.
...Then it turned to heavy rain, and we made a dash for it. Then it turned to huge hail, and a month later, I got a check for the value of my vehicle in hail damage. π Definitely a memorable cuddle. Zero regrets!
I can definitely see that being memorable. I'm glad it got your car and not you though ... unless it got you too, in which case I'm sorry.
@GuyverGordon Hehe Nope, we were safe, but it was so loud I was truly afraid it was going to break the windshield. π«¨
I've only experienced that type of hail storm once. When it was done, I picked up to see the size; probably golf ball size. I was inside my house ... I can only imagine what that was like in a car...
Iβm preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. I will have my cats to cuddle with. ππ»ππ» Iβm hoping for everyone in its path to be safe and sound and for this to dissipate very quickly.
Ahh well in that case! Regular run of the mill storms are my favorites to snuggle up with someone! Give me a little rain on cool grey and cloudy day with someone beside me. Perfect. π€
Lightning Storms rain sleet ice hurricane tornado earthquake typhoon tsunami fallout radiation all great to cuddle in Cuddling in sunny weather is so boring unless it happens to be a heat wave
@lonelytauros I thought I would find an adventurous spirit here
I don't live in Atlanta, but thanks anyway. π
Sure, cuddling during a storm and even cuddling with Storm (of The X-Men π¦Έ) would be awesome too.
Of course she'll have to tone down on all of that β‘LIGHTENINGβ‘ stuff, if we are to cuddle together.ππ
@Katota I don't know ... she might get a little overly winded
@GuyverGordon π
Who is Helene? Genuine question.
Who is Helene?
@HealingSystem
Seriously, she really is a hurricane.βοΈπͺοΈ
@Katota i'm blind, so I cannot see that picture. So⦠There's a new hurricane?
@HealingSystem It is a hurricane that just made landfall by Florida's panhandle and is traveling up through Georgia (Atlanta). It made landfall as a Cat 4 but is now a Cat 3. It is supposed to hit Atlanta during the night.
There's a new hurricane?
@HealingSystem Yep, and she is named Helene. π
I seem to be doing okay ... still in it, but it feels like the worst of the storm seems to be past.
How is everyone else faring?
@GuyverGordon
Seriously, slept right through it. We're good over here! π
@Katota I always enjoy your giphy responses.
I heard Waycross (according to a coworker) got slammed but it a lot of the heavy stuff just went around us it seems like.
@GuyverGordon Yeah, that is what happened with us...It just blew and rained around us here in Gainesville!ππ
Lol! Why thank you! π
My daughterβs house has a tree fall and landed in her closet. Trees and power lines down. Sheβs in Augusta GA. We had some areas that flooded. We are safe though.,ππ»
@Hollydollhugs Sorry to hear that... never fun. I'm glad you all are safe though
@GuyverGordon thank you so much. π
@Hollydollhugs Trees are not supposed to be in a closet. The fact you are safe is supposed to be. Good luck working through all the aftermath.
11 states. This storm is epic. Thank you to everyone working to help in whatever capacity. And thoughts and heartfelt sympathies to anyone impacted negatively.
