Storm

  • Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Here in western Maryland, it’s nonstop rain and the servers at my job were down due to the storm, so work was at a standstill, and I am considering ourselves lucky compared to other parts that are affected.

  • Saw the title of this thread and thought it was about the X-Men.

I think Helene exceeded the term storm. Helene was more like a reckoning.

  • When I originally wrote the title, it wasn't the giant it ended up being. It intensified quite quickly.

@GuyverGordon No one will hold that against you, but I am sure there is a group of guys that will come along and tell you that the storm wasn’t free and why whether you want to hear it or not, pat you on the head in a condescending manner, and return to the ether sphere in a cloud of smug patting each other on the back.

Kind of like prairie dogs popping up, chirping, then scurrying back into their hole. Only not as cute.

    Welcome to CC Gordon!

  • I hope we hear from some of our community who went through the worst of it just so we know they are safe and sound @Katota @Hollydollhugs come to mind. Unfortunately, power is out in their areas.

  • @TheFunCartel @GuyverGordon If you don't like the storm, you're just being stormphobic. pats you on the head condescendingly

    (did I do that right?)

  • @IronLemon Consider me condescended.

  • @IronLemon is that even a word? ... Actually I find storms fascinating... maybe more hurricanophobic?

  • @GuyverGordon I have been in three hurricanes—2 when I lived on the water years ago and then Beryl this year and I can say with certainty that I am hurricanophobic.

  • I've never been in a classified hurricane (that is by the time they reached me they were demoted to at least a tropical storm , with the exception of maybe Ivan?)

  • Saw the title of this thread and thought it was about the X-Men.

    😁👍

@TheFunCartel Lol! Seeing this STORM would have been worth me going outside for pics...

    😁🤳

  • I just saw that Asheville North Carolina got hit pretty bad. I hope everyone from that area are okay.

  • I've been in a few hurricanes. Farther north, though, so not as strong. There was some wind damage, but most of the damage was flooding.

  • I hope everyone is OK too!

As far as the original question, it’s been storming a lot too by me, so definitely would enjoy a cuddle during the thunderstorm. Is a soothing soundtrack. Love the thunder song too, is fave.

Or dancing in the rain. ☔️ 🌧️⛈️

I just drove to Augusta to get my daughter. It was unreal. I’m thankful she is alive. She is home safe with me. Grateful and thankful.

  • Thinking of all our CC members in the Helene affected areas. Received some pics from one CC member and the devastation is staggering. I know its getting a lot of media coverage but I think its even worse than what we are seeing!

@Hollydollhugs glad to hear you and your daughter are safe. 👍

  • I just found this

  • Prayers to those affected 🙏😢. This is very sad as the death toll is quickly rising & there's still about 600 missing people. And those poor animals & pets too that are lost, missing, injured & need foods & medical care. I just donated to Humane Society International.

  • I've seen some of the videos of the aftermath; it is pretty devastating ...

I will be headed to the east coast on Wednesday morning. I will be driving a Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle back there for their use and will remain for 3 weeks. Looking forward to helping but not seeing the destruction.

  • Just was reading an article that interstate 40 there was affected and parts washed out. Reports say it might be a year before they re-open the interstate there. just a horrendous situation 😢

  • Looters need to be-- well..., that suggestion would definitely be a TOS violation.

But it requires the lowest type of subhuman to prey on people and communities that have already lost everything.
